Booties – Nordstrom Off The Rack, Jeans – Ehtanol, Peplum Top – Anthropologie, Bib Necklace – Handmade by me, Danier Leather Jacket – Consignment
I went to the hardware store again today. I have a feeling I may start to get to know some of them well over the course of my home renovation trials and tribulations.
Once when I was dressed up for one of my jewelry shows I went into our Home Depot to pick up some zip ties for my booth. The old dude working there walked me to the zip ties and then as I was in the self check-out creepily asked me if they were to "tie someone up."
I have tried to avoid that store ever since.
Creep.
Still gives me the heebie jeebies.
For the record this time I went to the harware store I was dressed in jeans, runners, t-shirt and leather jacket with a baseball cap.
Yep…a baseball cap.
You will not be seeing a photo of me like that here…for now at least.
I was doing my best to blend into the crowd. It didn't quite work as well as I'd hoped.
I was pretty much ignored by everyone. Especially the people that worked there.
When I asked a male employee if he knew if that tool particular tool worked well he said,
"Just a minute,"
…walked off and never came back!
Really?
Excuse me!
I can't complain about everyone though because this kind old man took some extra time with me explaining tools. He even told me not to buy a wet saw because as he put it, " I don't mean to be disrespectful, but it is too dangerous for you."
That's okay.
I was kind of scared of the wet saw anyhow.
I will try to cut the tiles his way with a grinder and see if that works. If not, back to the store it goes and I will get that scary wet saw.
I am woman hear me roar!
I do have a guy coming by on Saturday to give me a quote on installation but honestly I feel like I am being a big baby if I can't do this on my own.
It's just putting silly tiles on a wall for heaven's sake.
Obviously I'm still trying to convince myself.
I'm much more accustomed to making stuff like the necklace I'm wearing here in these photos than worrying about what kind of grout I'm going to use and how many times I will need to seal the travertine. Look at me and all my online research.
Have you ever had the same issues in hardware stores? Or did I just get lucky?
Oh and because I haven't written about the outfit at all in this post it is one of my "transitioning into fall" ensembles.
Yeah, yeah…everyone is doing it on their blogs so really no explanation needed, but I'll write it for you anyhow…
Put on an leather jacket and some booties.
There.
Wow.
Mind blowing revelation.
You're welcome.
