Okay some of you might argue this doesn’t look too boho.
And really…isn’t “streamlined boho” an oxymoron?
Can it even be considered boho without excess?
Floppy hats? loads of bangles? diaphanous kimono? suede?
Like I did here?
( I think Vix, reigning-Queen-of-all-things-boho might have a couple of words to say about this…)
This is my “baby steps boho style”. Like in a recipe when they ask for just a pinch of cayenne…this is just a pinch of boho.
It still has some typical bohemian elements… fringe on the sweater, more fringe, groovy beads and natural stones on the necklace as well as blue crushed velvet on the booties.
Blue crushed velvet booties can only be boho in my book.
This simplified version of boho is a whole lot easier for me to wear. No worries about all the necklaces, bangles and layers clanging or catching on things.

In the end though…really do I care how this outfit is defined?
No.
I wore it.
I liked it.
Nuff said.
If you want to see a more “Rocker meets boho” and how to style a kimono this would be it. Or a patterned maxi skirt boho style with suede and a floppy hat. My version of 1970’s boho with patchwork boots.
