Nordstrom True Nord Launch Party
I was lucky enough to be invited along as part of Melanie’s entourage for her debut as one of the faces of Nordstrom Canada’s True Nord campaign.
The campaign is unique in that it honours inclusivity, diversity and freedom, core values of what it means to be a Canadian.
The commercial made my heart swell with pride for my country.
It’s short but oh so good.
Wasn’t it great?
The fact that my girlfriend got to be a part of this made it even more amazing. GO Mel!
We met a bit before the actual party started in Mel’s funky hotel room at The Broadview.
I supplied the party refreshments, prosecco and gourmet nacho chips and we toasted to Melanie’s success and the joy of having blogger girlfriends.
I was delighted when Patti was able to make the trip up from Florida for the party and stay at my place.
We had a blast!
I dressed her up like my own personal Barbie doll in pieces from my Etsy store so she could choose what she wanted to wear to the party.
This woman is gorgeous, inside and out.
You can see that she chose the handmade vintage wild horses dress which was perfect for the occasion.
I’m wearing one of my Ian Drummond vintage finds.
I wore it here.
The rhinestone belt was left at home because it was so hot outside (we were in the middle of an extreme heat warning) but looking back on these photos I regret that decision as it made me look heavy without the belt.
I even managed to remember to bring my new selfie stick so we could get a photo of us all together.
Good thing because we never got another one all night.
The photos below were taken by Shelley with her new phone…aren’t they great?
Almost makes me want to go out and buy a Huawei phone.
After the party we enjoyed a meal together before Shelley had to catch her bus back to London.
We headed back to the hotel and Mel and I joked around a bit trying on Patti’s wig.
Mel is always the actress. I think she can really pull off this look. I’m calling it, “psycho diva does Toronto”.
Don’t turn your back on her. She will throw her shoes in your face and scream that she needs more yellow Smarties and iced Grey Goose.
“I said NO RED SMARTIES you imbecile!”
I, on the other hand just look plain horrible.
Nope. Just no.
Let me just say I’m happy I don’t have to see my forehead regularly.
The following day Patti and I managed to squeeze in a bit of thrifting before she had to fly back home.
Do you remember this bride’s maid dress from my trip to Vancouver?
Mel and Patti wore it in our hilarious Talize wedding video.
It seems there is one of these dresses in every single thrift store I visit.
Now after all the excitement is over and my guest has left it is hard to get back to real life.
Ugh.
Ah well. There are loads of items just waiting to be listed in my Etsy shop and the pug isn’t going to walk herself.
Do you have any famous girlfriends?
Linking up with Patti for Visible Monday, Turning Heads Tuesday and Fancy Friday
