I picked this boho style maxi dress up from Marshalls. It is 6 sizes too big for me. Can you tell? I figured that by belting it you wouldn't really notice. That is the problem with discount stores, you can discover some real treasures, but most often they aren't in your size.
I would ask does this dress make me look smaller since it's too large but that is never how it works. I understand the concept that when you buy something too small it will make you look big due to bulges and overflow (did a muffin top ever look less tasty?), but when you buy something too large shouldn't it make you look smaller? Instead it also makes you look big. Your eyes assume that any empty space is simply filled with more of you. Unfair, unfair I say! Someone needs to come up with a solution and fast…I want to wear this on the cruise next week and when someone yells "look at the whale starboard!" I don't want it to be me.
