Mixing "hobo" or very casual pieces and dressier items seems to be a trend that isn't going away anytime soon. Frankly I think it's one hot mess wonderful. Go ahead and get out all of your old college t-shirts, t-back muscle shirts and old crappy "distressed" jeans that you were going to give to the Salvation Army and pair them with some of your fancy schmancy extra expensive pieces from your closet. Never mind that half of you might look like you just rolled some homeless person. This is fashion folks. People suffer for it.
Case in point…here is a photo from Personal Uniform . A wonderful fashion blog that really takes this concept to the next level.
Here is my "baby steps" version of the concept, sans jeans.
This is a little grey t-back muscle shirt that I would have worn while working in the garden or for a workout previously. Now it has become my new "fashion star" when paired with a little silk floral skirt. What do you think? Should I give the construction worker back his undershirt?
