Mixing "hobo" or very casual pieces and dressier items seems to be a trend that isn't going away anytime soon. Frankly I think it's one hot mess wonderful. Go ahead and get out all of your old college t-shirts, t-back muscle shirts and old crappy "distressed" jeans that you were going to give to the Salvation Army and pair them with some of your fancy schmancy extra expensive pieces from your closet. Never mind that half of you might look like you just rolled some homeless person. This is fashion folks. People suffer for it.
Case in point…here is a photo from Personal Uniform . A wonderful fashion blog that really takes this concept to the next level.
Here is my "baby steps" version of the concept, sans jeans.
This is a little grey t-back muscle shirt that I would have worn while working in the garden or for a workout previously. Now it has become my new "fashion star" when paired with a little silk floral skirt. What do you think? Should I give the construction worker back his undershirt?
Muscle shirt – very old, I have no idea where I got it
Necklace – Forever 21
Skirt – Mexx
Shoes – Miss L Fire
Clutch – Danier

Give back the muscle shirt? No way…haha. I used to wear those soooo much while I was in school. It was so easy to pull on and accessorize with. I wore so many that I continued to buy packs and packs of it to have on hand. =) Plus…it was hot where I was so wearing it was also practical.
I love the way you paired everything here:-) the necklace is amazing!!!also love the skirt adn red wedges!!!great summer look!!!
I was scared what the look would be after reading the top but I am quite impressed! The look turned out really lovely! A really great mix!
I think Ed’s (the imaginary construction worker;) muscle tee is perfect coupled with such a femme skirt…love it!
