Some of you might recognize this skirt from the Altuzarra treasure hunt that I went on a couple of weeks ago.
During the hunt for this skirt I originally bought it in a size 2.
Here is the thing people…
I don't wear a size 2.
Like ever.
Size 4 mostly and sometimes on certain days of the month a size 6.
But since that was all they had left I decided to give it a go and I managed to get it on and zip it up without ripping it or having to beg for help from a sales assistant.
My brain was delighted with the fact that I had squeezed myself into a size 2.
At this point in time I can distincly hear Carly Simon singing, "You're so vain!"
When I took some photos of myself in the skirt though it looked like I'd been squeezed into overfilled snakeskin sausage casing.
There is a lesson here folks…
Just because you can do up the zipper without breaking it doesn't mean it fits.
I managed to locate a size 4 in the skirt and now there aren't so many wrinkles around my mid section like you see in these photos.
I'm doing my best Angelina Jolie impersonation.

I love how this looks like a dress but is two pieces and the back detail on the belt matches up with the zipper on the skirt perfectly.
Like I'm an alien that can just unzip her skin.
Wouldn't that be handy?
Then you could just take it off, pop it in the dryer on high heat for a bit, shrink out all those wrinkles and pop it back on.
Have you ever tried to squeeze yourself into a smaller size for vanity's sake?
Did you keep the piece and regret buying later?
Or did your sanity come back prior to making it to the cash register?
