Meeting up with my creative, fashionable girlfriends requires some intelligent packing strategies.
This year we met in April when the BC weather is prone to more unpredictability than usual. I planned my travel wardrobe around my famous blue raincoat. Rain is a given when visiting Vancouver pretty much all year round so I also packed a mini umbrella.

You’ll remember this bold vintage maxi dress.
I love it!
Statement dresses like this are perfect for standing out from the crowd.
It is a very easy-to-wear option that is as comfy as wearing PJs.
Packing Tip
Use the same footwear and outerwear.
My packing plan was try to make outfits using the same outerwear and boots when possible.
Keeping the bottom half all blue visually lengthens my body.
Us shorties need all the help we can get.
This vintage dress is from the Ian Drummond sale last year.
The outfit is visual stimulation and print overload.
It’ll hypnotize you if you look at it too long.
I packed this vintage 70s striped dress but didn’t get the chance to wear it.
I always pack at least one or two alternate outfits to accommodate changes in weather and mood.
Packing Confession
I took LOTS of footwear for this trip. In fact, I took five pairs of boots! They took up half of my suitcase and almost put me over my suitcase weight limit. My feet are notoriously fussy and I find that sometimes simply changing out my footwear is the break they need when traveling.
I wore every pair of boots I took so I don’t feel bad about lugging them all the way to BC and back.
Those are 3 outfits I packed for Vancouver in April.
Next time I’ll showcase some outfits I wanted to take that didn’t make the cut.
