We had some fun last week popping into one of my favourite vintage stores, Sweet Trash. Terri the store owner and her trusted side-kick Honey (part Pug part Jack Russel) were just as affable as ever. This was the two dressed for Halloween…super cute right?
I'm a sucker for any store that a dog works at.
I was on the lookout for a hat for The Swing Out To Victory Dance we will be going to on Nov 9th.
As you can see I had some fun trying on a few other outfits and hats while I was there.
If this wiggle dress actually made me wiggle I would have bought it. The colour is spectacular but it was too large.
I will openly admit that this silk 1970's dress was hard to leave behind. The colours were fabulous again and it was so fluid and dreamy. It floated like a cloud when I walked.
As you can see I'm holding the back closed because once again the dress was much too large on me and basically wanted to fall off. I would have had to have major alterations to make it work. Why oh why don't I have any sewing talent?
This midi skirt that almost looks like a maxi on me is another piece from the 1970's. Paired with a cashmere sweater from the 1950's and a hat from the 1940's ( I think ). That hat was such a scream.
Walking through the town of Elora the day before Halloween the town was filled with sculpture installations of gouls and monsters hanging off of buildings everywhere. It was very surreal. I loved it. Elora is a wonderful place for art and galleries.
I think this millipede freaked me out the most.
I could have spent much more time just looking at the creepy sculptures but it was cold outside. Sunny but cold.
We headed back home but stopped for lunch on the way back. A lovely day out.
We are very lucky to have nice little towns like this to visit in southern Ontario less than an hour away from our house.
By the way…I did get a brilliant hat, some scarves and gloves…I will be sharing when we get dressed for the dance. Robert also scored some beautiful vintage cuff links. Thanks again Terri and Honey! It is always a treat to see you and your treasures.
