My cable sucks. Totally. It is such a waste of money. I have Rogers Cable and they never have anything worth watching, so why am I paying them $150/mo? Also they skip episodes. Important episodes. Why on earth are they removing episodes anyhow? Am I not paying to have them "on demand" so I can watch them any time I want? What is the point of having "on demand" when they can just arbitrarily remove episodes or simply *forget* episodes? Or they put the episodes on 3 weeks after they have aired.
And no, I don't own a PVR. I figured the "on demand" is a PVR. But it's not.
I am seriously trying to pull the plug on cable but I'm scared.
What about Breaking Bad? *Whenever* it chooses to arbitrarily start up again.
And my beloved MadMen premier this Sunday. Will I have to catch up on it days later when some other blogger has already spilled important plot details? ( Don't cheat Don! Just don't do it!)
These are the things that keep me wondering if I can cut the cable umbilical cord.
We just got Google TV about 2 weeks ago and it is starting to make me feel a bit more courageous. I really want to cut that cord.
Do you still have cable? And if you got rid of it do you regret your choice?

I don’t have cable, or a home phone. Never looked back!

We have cable, but like you, I am starting to think it is a waste. I normally watch TV online – that way I can watch my favorite shows on my schedule (and without commercials!)

LOVE this look! So cool. I keep wanting to cut off our cable just to save money but then a new show starts and I just can’t seem to do it.

Hi Suzanne, this is gorgeous, again great look! Love your fedora – it suits perfectly. You asked me about the DIY, if I have link to DIY sweater applique? It was posted at the beginning in the original post for this sweater.

I bow down to you Kathleen! I am so ready to give up both.

I so agree about the TV online. I do find that some sites ask for credit card information which of course I don’t want to give. Which sites do you use regularly? Currently we use Mega Share for Movies and Stream TV for series.

I know…it feels a bit risky still, especially with my fav MadMen starting again.

Thanks Olga! : ) You are the queen of all DIY clothing.

I don’t think I could ever get rid of my cable, especially because of Mad Men! My cable bill is high too but if my husband didn’t have the Lakers on tv he would freak out haha! Good luck cutting the cord, can’t wait to hear how your life is cable free!

Nope no cable for us. We do have pay TV in NZ but since we got a recording box I just can’t see the point. Love love love your casual outfit and as I’ve just thrifted a gingham shirt it does straight to the inspiration file! Thanks for sharing with WW

Cool casual look. Esp love your sweater. I wouldn´t do it but we don´t have to pay that much for it.

Thanks Chioma : )

Ah guys and their sports. I’ve decided not to do it until after the MadMen premier this weekend. I’ve been looking forward to it forever.
Suzanne says
Thanks for visiting Kelly. Honestly now that we have the Google TV it works as well as a PVR or better. We can get shows on it that they don’t have on the cable.
Suzanne says
Thanks for popping by Mira.
Funny story about the sweatshirt…I had planned on making my own DIY sweatshirt with sequins. Then I’m in Forever 21 and they had this one. A whole lot easier to just buy it for $23 than make my own.

We’ve never had cable, just broadcast. That’s what I grew up with, so it doesn’t seem odd to me. We just got Netflix, but I’m not even sure if we’re going to keep that for very long. I tend to like movies better than tv shows…I don’t like being left in suspense!
Suzanne says
LOL that is funny about not wanting to be left in suspense. I think I am the opposite. I always need a bit of mystery otherwise I don’t want to keep watching. Probably why I like MadMen so much…the whole thing is a mystery.
