This was to be a post about fall coats I have for sale in my Etsy store but several pieces have already sold.
Whoops!
No matter! We all like to look at pictures and sometimes just admiring with our eyes instead of our wallets is good training to teach us how to exercise personal restraint.
“What’s that?” I hear Greetje asking. Ha!
I’ve heard rumours that it can be done.
Vintage Fall Coats Eye Candy
I use the term vintage loosely. For Etsy vintage is anything over 20 years old.
This paisley coat happens to still be available at the moment size S/M…
I was sad to see this long classic plaid Saks blazer leave my racks.
I was tempted to keep this one.
My bank account decided this amazing piece was destined for someone else to love.
BTW those Dr. Martens booties are still available if you are a size 6.5.
This isn’t about the thrifted jean jacket below but rather the cool buffalo plaid skirt with a side ruffle which also sold today.
Keeping with the red and black theme this groovy late 60s early 70s red tie neck dress is still available.
Size M/L. Not yet listed.
It was made for my red sock boots don’t you think?
That wonderful long gingham coat sold today.
Bye bye!
This sexy Mrs. Robinson leopard trench coat was made by a costume company for a play.
Size S/M.
If you’re looking for something really warm this winter one of these furry vintage mohair coats might fit the bill.
Vintage 1960s mohair coat size S/M
Vintage 1950s mohair cape one size fits most.
Lace up tall boots size 6.
Two Other Vintage Coats You’ll Love
I LOVE this vintage oversized blazer/coat from the 1980s. Aren’t the colours gorgeous?
Another current favourite of mine is this vintage black and white long sweater coat. I think it would go with everything.
Are you set for winter coats this year?
Linking up with the lovely Patti over at Visible Monday.
It’s too warm for a coat here for the moment, but I have a confession to make: I totally love wearing coats and have actually just bought two new vintage autumn/winter coats. I simply cannot resist a good coat. Your selection is fabulous, no wonder they get snapped up so quickly. And although just looking at it makes me break out in a sweat, I’m rather partial to that red mohair one with the tie! xxx
The mohair is like wearing a furry animal on your back! Ha ha! I almost wanted to brush the hair and style it!
I love the scarf on that piece. So Mary Tyler Moore!
Love that buffalo plaid skirt!!!!
It was such a unique piece.
You are in a DANGEROUS profession, Suzanne. Hahaha!!! I’d be clinging to the package at the post office as the clerk tries to wrest it from my arms for delivery. So many gorgeous looks. I’m glad your sales are booming!!
Sometimes it is hard to let pieces go. That long blazer was one of them.
I cannot resist a good coat when I see one, and recently brought home a black faux fur one to add to my already full to bursting closet. It’s a real problem.
Not to make you feel bad for selling it, but man, that Saks long blazer looks soooo bitchin’ on you over the white shirt and jeans!
I like the black and white chevron patterned sweater too. There are just waaaay too many good coats out there.
Coast do take up so much space!
I agree…there are WAY to many beautiful coats out there.
I haven’t even begun to list all the leather pieces I’ve collected as often I find I don’t want to part with them. That is becoming a problem.
After wearing that chevron sweater a couple of times I’m thinking of delisting it. It is a wonderful piece.
Loving the mohair coat and cape on you, they’re such fab colours and great cuts, too.
October is peak coat buying season in the vintage world, which I’m pleased about, they’re a bitch to lug about when the fair is up four flights of stairs!
I’ve never heard of buffalo plaid before but the skirt looks incredible on you. xxx
I remember doing that! Ugh.
When I used to do my scrapbooking shows we had to lug fifty 35 lb boxes everywhere. It was a real workout.
Coats are truly one of my faves!! Almost as much as shoes. Because you need one everyday in the winter, and who wants to look boring?
You have the best taste in clothes, Suzanne!!
XOXO

Aw thanks Jodie : )
I agree that for those of us that live in colder climates a good selection of coats is mandatory.
Ooohh… your eye for spotting fashion-gems is the best I’ve ever known.
Thanks lady : )
Oh my, if I would live near you, I would be a very regular customer!
I’ve been getting quite a few European customers lately.
Restraint? Hmm. I do use that every now and then! I really love the selection of coats. The plaid coat from Saks fifth Avenue is just stunning. And I also adore thar rich plaid Cape. You look stunning in the leopard ! And these are fun photos to see. I am sure you enjoyed doing a bit of shopping instead of being a vendor this year. But I do understand your mixed feelings.

Seeing the show as a vendor or a buyer are so very different but I can appreciate both. My wallet prefers the former though ; P
Some beauties here, Suzanne. I have too many coats/jackets already…
Oh my word, the vintage mohair coat and cape, amazing! I really loved them, and you look divine! Well, I will ask myself too, what’s personal wallet restraint? 🙂 I am learning this week, what it means, because I am in a city for some days and forgot my credit card in Montevideo. How can I do this???? But it’s good, believe me, I am feeling good. So I had to smile when I read that, “what’s that?” You really look amazing, I loved every coat here! Hope you have a nice day! Bisous!

OK.. indeed “What’s that??” Hahaha. I really have to be taught how to do this.
I loved the gingham coat and also the chevron black and white one. I think you sell so quickly because it all looks so good on you.
Greetje
Love every coat, all of them are gorgeous!, it’s difficult even to pick a favorite!, and that red plaid skirt is an amazing piece! I understand that you sold them so quickly, they’re so cool!
Personal restraint, what’s that? mwhahaha, lovely to read your posts!
besos
Love the coats, especially that plaid from Saks. I’m surprised you’re giving up the leopard print one. I’d have a hard time doing that. The skirt is gorgeous. Not surprised it’s gone.

I love all of these coats and the way you styled them, but omg omg omg omg that red coat! Wowza! <3

Yikes! Just saw this post and you show some breathtaking pieces here Suzanne. You REALLY have such talent for finding and beautifully showcasing the vintage treasures you offer for sale. I have to thank you for educating me and really expanding my view of the wearability of vintage clothing.
Coats are a pretty special category of clothing and I actually have way more coats and jackets than I care to admit. Our seasons fuel my addiction I’m afraid… ;-\
That cape is just absolutely gorgeous! And I see it already sold to some lucky person 🙂
