DIY Thrifted Vintage Gucci Inspired Look
I’ve fallen head over heels in love with everything Gucci since the new creative director Alessandro Michele came on board in 2015. He has a very unique sense of quirky vintage style.
“The way you dress is really the way you feel, the way you live, what you read, your choices.” – Alessandro Michele
Many of his designs are based on vintage pieces from his own personal collection.
Vintage is reborn!
Break All The Rules
Mixing prints, over-embellishing pieces, clashing colours everything goes in Alessandro’s eclectic visions. There is no wrong way to put together an outfit.
It’s fantastic!

Freedom to create, freedom to play, freedom to be.
Let your imagination take you to places you’ve never been.
That’s what having fun with fashion is all about.
That is where thrifting comes in.
Any avid thrifter will tell you they don’t go thrifting with a set goal in mind. You have to be zen about the whole experience. Be open to what you find that day. You may find something totally weird and unusual, that’s a good thing! It stretches your mind. It is an opportunity to imagine new possibilities. The more colours in your crayon box the more options you have.

It is fascinating when I purchase items that speak to my heart they somehow magically work together.
Given that there are no rules you can combine and wear whatever you want, no matter your age. Confidence is the only accessory required.
Choosing how to dress yourself is active play for grown ups.
Here are some other Gucci inspired looks I’ve created in the past.
There are some other fabulous thrift and vintage loving bloggers out there that also have a bit of a fab Gucci vibe to their outfits that I’d like to share with you today.

What’s stopping you from creating your own DIY thrifted vintage Gucci inspired look?

nothing! 😀
this newest gucci styles are totally my cup of tea! esp. because its so eclectic – not only one silhouette or the 2-3 trend colors or THAT pattern….. i can chose the shape, cuts, colors and pattern i like and which suit me best – THE STYLE is made up by #combination!! and #boldness – which suits my personality. and as you pointed out: i can recreate it easy and budget friendly with 2.hand & vintage pieces……
love your look here – of cause! – and can totally imagine how it looked with magenta leg wear and your fab blue coat!

I so agree! Thrifting enables us to explore sartorial freedom due to the abundant choices and low cost. It’s opened up my life and given depth to my passion for fashion. It’s easy to see a connection between your style and this designer’s work.
I adore the Gucci collection, it’s eclectic, glamorous and loads of fun. I don’t think any other campaign has remotely interested me except theirs, it’s like the stylist was let loose in a charity shop.
All your outfits are utterly wonderful especially with added pug appeal in the shape of darling Zoe.
Thank you so much for including me in with the other fabulous femmes! xxx
I’m afraid I wouldn’t know Gucci if it came up and bit me, Suzanne, but I’m highly flattered to appear on your blog, thank you so much!
I like the Gucci designs very much having seen them here on your blog and will look out for them in the future. I loved your take on it too; wonderful outfits.
I’ve also just reminded myself that a many years ago when we first got satellite TV there was a fashion channel that featured designer collections amongst other things but it’s disappeared…
Have a lovely weekend.

I totally love your description of thrifting. Some people don’t get it, when I mention my shopping plans. But it really is about being zen and then getting a wonderful surprise. Of course you can be disappointed if you have an agenda.
Although yesterday I found 3 black skirts that could be contenders for my choir outing. All only 2$ each!
I adore your outfit and the gucci ones and all the bloggers. How did so much faulousness enter this world! We are blessed.

Now you’ve done it – you’ve inspired me to go thrifting and it’s the LAST THING I should be doing. Hahaha!! I love when you go Gucci. And I love Senora Allnut, Vronnie and Vix’s looks. Happy to see them! More colour is required is a mantra. Too bad you didn’t get that photo with the blue coat, but these shots do just fine. Zoe is too cute for her own good!!!
I’ve really been enjoying the recent Gucci offerings also, and have been picking up a few pieces to create similar looks. I wore a pink tweed jacket to work with a green atomic print blouse underneath and felt very Gucci that day. I’ll have to try and photograph a few looks for my blog. I really love your interpretations, always so nicely done! x
“Choosing how to dress yourself is active play for grown ups”. I couldn’t agree more Suzanne. Dressing myself is one of the highlights of my day, even when it’s cold and grey outside. I’m not following any trends or fashion designers, so I’ve no idea what Gucci’s latest offerings look like, but even if it’s only a little bit like what you, Melanie, Monica, Veronica and Vix are showing here, it must be fabulous. What a fantastic look you’ve created here. I totally dig that magenta skirt, and it must have looked even more awesome with your fabulous blue vinyl raincoat! xxx
The Gucci designs are fun eye candy, but while I enjoy looking at them, the concept just doesn’t work for me when it comes to getting dressed. I like a good polka dot or a stripe, but otherwise I’m not a big fan of wearing patterns and prefer to play with shapes and proportions. You, on the other hand, are a pattern pro, as are Vix and Mel. That leather skirt is such a gorgeous colour!
You do Gucci very well! I love the outfit you are wearing on the sofa, with the plaid skirt and black beret. Too bad you didn’t get a picture of your outfit with the raincoat and magenta tights- that sounds even more fabulous 🙂
Yes, the new Gucci designs are the bomb. And I always envy how well you put your prints together. Of course, now I’m itching to go on a thrifting binge. I’ve been really restraining myself, but I’ve put together about 4 bags to donate and because I’m now inspired by all these Gucci-esque outfits, it’s time to shop!

OK you nailed it! This outfit is totally in the Gucci style. As are your other outfits. I take my hat off to you and make a deep bow.

mwahaha, so happy that I’ve been considered inspiring enough to be with so fabulous ladies!, and I do love that you put together so many Gucci-esque outfits, there must to be something in the air which inspires all of us to create, be colorful, mix prints and textures and have fun!
I do love to see you wearing that magenta tights and your fab blue vinyl coat!
Gorgeous!!
besos
Oh my! My eyes are vibrating from the bewitching bedazzlement! Your talent is spilling out all over your post Suzanne!!
I’ve always loved color and lately pattern mixing has been so much fun and really charged my styling game BUT I’m a rookie by these standards. Years ago in Mexico I got a shot of penicillin in my ass from a physician wearing Gucci belt. Do you think that will help?
