One thing I took away from living in France was that fashionable Europeans love to wear scarves. Everyone, men, women, teenagers, kids.
I think I might have seen a couple of babies wearing Hermès scarves at one point.
Now if I want to look at bit more European I simply wear a scarf.
This whole look I created below looks like it could have come right out of the closet of Audrey Hepburn, don’t you think?

I’m really loving that olive green coat.
A great place to find scarves is at thrift stores and consignment stores.
I found a pug scarf at a farmer’s market.
Not a scarf for a pug…but a scarf with pug images on it.
Although I probably would have bought it if there was a pug modelling it too. Ha ha!
I haven’t worn it on the blog yet.
Do you enjoy wearing scarves? How about your pets? {wink}
yes – I feel very francaise when I wear one too. I would totally dress my cats in scarves, except for all the blood (mine). Love those patent booties. xox

Ha ha! Guess we won’t be seeing that anytime soon then ; )
That outfit oozes Europeanism. Yes, I could see Hepburn in it; I could see you in it! I wore a silky scarf last week and I liked it, but I was dressed as a witch – does that count? I don’t wear the pretty ones often but I rely on heavy ones for warmth.
Mais oui! I enjoy wearing scarves, like just about every other French person (you’re right on that). And I have soooooo many of them, in all different materials, patterns and styles. I favor longer ones that I can wrap several times, or infinity ones. Aesthetics aren’t the only reason they’re worn, most people, especially the men, will justify it as a way of keeping yourself warm and preventing you from catching a cold. These that you’ve shown are super stylish and look great with the outfit, especially that first one. And yes, that coat would look perfect on you!
It’s funny how many years I went without wearing a scarf in winter and then realized that yeah, it really does keep you warmer.
I’ve taken to wearing my plaid blanket scarf just about all the time- partly because The Boy keeps the house freezing, but it seems to go with everything!
C’est la verite. Scarves can Frenchefy just about any outfit. I am 100% pro scarf. I am also 100% pro pet scarf. Now if I could only figure out how those French girls manage to eat all those pastries and still maintain those slender European hips. I guess I’ll just have to wrap a scarf around my big American bottom.
I must see pancake wearing a scarf! Or two!
Oops, should have capitalized Pancake : )
I won’t tell you how many scarves I own, because honestly, it’s just ridiculous. And Abby loves a pretty bandana after visiting the groomer!
I can believe you own quite a few scarves!
This is so true! I love a scarf. But read recently that scarves are now ‘over’ here in the uk. Personally I will continue wearing them as it’s cold!! X
What??? Did they offer a replacement? Or are you just supposed to get sick?
I love scarves. Have a million of them. All neatly stacked in my draw, perhaps making babies there. I don’t know, I hardly wear them. They hang like a thread most of the times. Sometimes one just works. But I always wear a scarf with a coat. Otherwise I am too cold.
Love your collage. Those booties you definitely have to buy. Low heel and so stylish and at such a price!
Greetje
I do love those booties but alas I have run out of room for more booties. And you know the size of my closet (s).
My dear Suzanne, I must say that I never know what to do with a Scarf, hahhahhah
Lots of love

Well you don’t live in a climate where they are really necessary. If you came here you’d learn mighty quickly how to wear a scarf : )
When the weather gets cold I love wearing scarves, and have a sizeable collection of both “Indoor” and “outdoor” scarves. They can make even a t-shirt and jeans look like a cool outfit.
My rats do not, and will not wear scarves.
Ha ha! I’d pay some good money to see your rats in scarves. What about that for a Christmas card this year???
I wear a scarf nearly every day. Probably partially due to the fact that I rarely wear prints… usually solid tops and they require a bit of pzazz, so a scarf does it for me. I don’t need a pug scarf…. I need a boxer scarf. LOL
I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a boxer scarf for you.
Thanks for popping by!
i too love scarves. I don’t feel dressed unless I add one to spice things up. My daughter laughs at me whenever we shop because I’m always buying yet another scarf!
Thanks for stopping by Rosemond!
I lvoe scarves of all sizes and wear them a lot. They jsut seem like the perfect finishing touch. Can’t wait to see you Pug scarf. My daughter is insane for her Pug and would get a kick out of it!
I’m a sucker for all things pug. It’s really gotten to be a bit of an addiction.
Your selection really remind Audrey Hepburn’s style…I have always loved her sophisticated elegance!
About scarves : I have many beautiful ones and also two Hermes. Recently I haven’t been wearing them often . Of course I carefully keep the best ones into my closet … you can never know!!
You must show the Hermes! Your style is ideal for scarves.
Love this outfit, it is very classic. Nice to see a style collage that is beautiful and not too trendy. Adore the middle scarf…. It was the first thing I clicked to see.
Beautiful!
Love your image of the pug, cant wait to see that scarf !
I find that a hat and scarf enables a lighter coat, and a happier spine!

No doubt you are able to pick out the real quality scarf : ) That doesn’t surprise me one bit!
I always wear a scarf, neckerchief or even a sarong as a scarf, because of my usual pharingitis, but I’ve tried to make it as funny as possible!. Never thought about it as a french-style signature!. It’s just another layer you can play with!
besos
Ah, that careless toss of the scarf over the shoulder. I think scarves run a close second to boots for me.
Can’t wait to see your pug scarf. I recently bought a snood with owls on it. It makes me happy.

Amen! To scarf wearing that is. Yes, wearing a scarf is the best way to accessorize an outfit and at this time of year, the most stylish way to add a layer of warmth. I just keep adding and adding to my collection. I’ve also found that scarves make for the best traveling accessory, roll two or three in your suitcase and you have a completely different outfit, right?
I need to find that first scarf, I love the camel and black combo.
I usually just feel cold whenever I decide to wear a scarf, hahaha.
But seriously: I have a ton of scarfs in every possible color, material, dessin and size and I wear them a lot.
