What? Me wear simple, classic clothes that are comfortable too?
I think I may have uncovered the secret of how to wear comfy clothes and not feel like a slob.
“You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of relaxed, soft fabrics. A dimension of elastic waists. A dimension of neutral colours and padded footwear. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance of fashion and ideas.
You’ve just crossed over into… The Fashun Twilight Zone.”
It’s not as frightening as it sounds.
It’s like “lounging pyjamas” with low heels.
I wear pyjamas with low heels ALL THE TIME.
{snort}
You know, to lengthen my line when I’m feeding the dog and doing laundry.
We all need long lines ladies! And no, I’m not referring to the ones on my face.
These faux suede cigarette pants are like a snuggie for my legs.
And look! My office is so bright I gotta wear shades!
Either that or I was too lazy to put on eye make up.
Yeah, I’m going with the first idea. Much more, “pro blogger-ish“.
I am going to dish a bit about these little shoes I’m wearing because Hallelujah! I’ve found some heels worth shouting about.
These are the most comfortable heels I own!
AND they were reasonably priced (I see that you can buy them online through Ebay for less than $20!).
Yes, they’re just simple little black classic suede heels but, and I cannot emphasize this enough, they feel great on my feet!
They don’t make my brain hurt after wearing them for more than thirty minutes.
The brand name is Abella (which I’ve never heard of before) and I bought them at DSW. The insoles are padded, the heel is 2¾”, the sole is rubber and flexible. I was so impressed with the fit and comfort that I bought them in grey as well. I probably would have bought the blue ones if they had them in my size as well. I have too many pairs of “car-restaurant-restaurant-car” heels that having a couple of pairs where I think I could actually walk all the way to the parkade without screaming at strangers on the street to “MAKE THE PAIN STOP!” is like winning a small lottery.
Have you ever heard of this brand before? And if so…why the heck didn’t you tell me about them? And no, I’m not paid a dime for this.
Damn-it!
I’m considering this my good deed of the day. Normally my good deed is picking up my dog’s poop off of my neighbour’s lawns but sometimes I like to really go all out and go that extra mile. It’s nice to feel like I’m contributing to society.
Feeling good. Saving one pair of over-40 ladies feet at a time. That’s my motto.
What’s your motto?

Oh thank you thank you for this. I am on my way to get some for my poor dogs. You look gorgeous – I love the shades. And the couch. And the hair! xo

Never heard of this brand but I utterly refuse to wear heels that cause me pain, which is why most of them are from Clarks, who do a lot of ‘mid height’ heels… Will definitely keep a look out for this one in future!
Comfy heels are a treasure. And these are cute, too! I love reading your witty posts. You’re my favorite blogger right now in terms of quality of blogging.
I don’t wear heels very often, and if I do, they have to be comfortable. But I always admire women in beautiful heels…
I’ll have to check out this brand – have never heard of it before.
Great photos! Great sunglasses, too!
Congrats on finding the most comfortable pair of heels! I have never heard of this brand and may need to check it out. I wonder if they have taller heels. I am okay with kitten heels but not my first choice.

Hope to see your Thursday for TBT Fashion link up.
These are some of my favourite photos of you – I love the mod pony tails, shades (in the house, the ONLY way), lounging on the sofa. My motto seems to be: Is it sweet – can I eat it? Hilarious post with excellent info tucked inside, the best!
I’m glad you found comfy shoes. Yes, they make life so much more, er, comfy. Elastic waist? Oh yeeeah, baby, they look awesome.
Amazing how you remain stylish in such a comfortable outfit. Is it the hair? The glasses? Noooo… it is your gorgeous figure showing off.
I could have done wih a close-up of the shoes from the side too. And yes it is soooo nice to find heels which you can actually wear the whole day. I have my cream booties which I love to death but yours have one up on mine: they are much more affordable.

PS do you keep that fantastic couch in your office?
Yes, these photos were taken in my upstairs office. Almost everything you see in that room was bought at estate sales, couch included.
These look awesome! Comfort is always such a bonus with heels. Great review!

Thank you so much for picking up dog poop. I love this photo shoot. You’ve got a bit of a young Brigitte Bardot vibe going on Cherie!
I thought Brigitte Bardot too! Absolutely gorgeous. You may have convinced me to buy my first pair of heels in …..hmm…not sure how many years. I love the heel height – it won’t make me too towering. And comfortable is always a plus for me.
Loving your hair in bunches, the stunner of a sofa and sunglasses indoors (you and Patti are both at it!)
I was beginning to despair of finding boots with a heel I could wear all day – I can’t do shoes, my joints are too wonky and I over at a moment’s notice – but a friend gave me a pair she’d never worn and my problems are solved – for now. xxx
You look so cute with your hair like that, very Bridget Bardot-ish. Hmmm . . . do I have a motto? I guess if I did it would be, ‘Don’t be afraid to try something new.’
Your hair was what I noticed first too, it looks great like that! Hurrah for comfy shoes. I got rid of all my uncomfy ones a while ago! X
Look at you, lounging around with your shades on indoors – was the hangover that bad, darling?! Love the hair and the Sixties vibe! xxx
Comfortable and stylish? I want me a pair (or five)!!! LOVE this post Suzanne 🙂

With your hair like that, the shades and the skinny pants – sooooo Audrey Hepburn as a beatnik in the film Funny Face.
Love the heels! I look for the same thing, a flexible and padded sole, with leather because it stretches, or not , if it is not too snugly in the toe. So glad you found them, I will look for them as well, otherwise how shall I feed my dog ( Hah!)
I do well with Payless shoes, they are comfy and always come in my size 5 shoe. Some of them are really pretty too. I also look for bit of a platform , so the incline is not too steep.
Love the sunnies, guilty as charged. My eyes are often so swollen for my AI disease, that It is just easier to wear shades…
love your look, and love your hair!

Um… these shoes look amazing!! You look amazing too in your shades 😉 I’m pinning this for the next time I need heels.
I feel like I’ve found the best shoe companies on DSW.
Also- I like the outfit but what really stood out to me in these photos was how much I like your office. Not that it is the first time you’ve shown it, but it just hit me all over again 😀
I must say I love my office too. I’m so glad after living here for some 9 years that I finally took the plunge last year and redid it on my own. Totally worth it.
I am so digging the hair…super cute and sexy all at once. Love me some comfortable heels…I must check these out! A motto…definitely “It is what it is.”

Hilarious post! MAKE THE PAIN STOP!!!! I can see me saying that to someone too. Love the pony tails, I do that every once in a while and the outfit is a classic. My mom has just got me hooked onto DSW online. There is absolutely no shopping near me. I just got a great pair of burgundy oxfords/brogues and I have them on today.
My motto(s) – Drink whatever wine you like , Life is too short to wear boring clothes (am I stealing a famous person’s quote?) and TRY not to be unkind without warrant – I frequently have to reign in my snark.
Ha! You and me both on the snark bit. : )
From head to toe…I love everything about this look!
Darlene
I just noticed on your blog I cannot access the comments section. Did you do that on purpose Darlene?
So did you buy the second pair right away….or after wearing the black ones awhile? What is quite annoying is when the shoes feel great in the store, but have issues after I actually wear them out and about! (Notice the shoes have the issues….not the wearer!)
My motto changes daily—today it’s “This too shall pass”—-don’t ask about how the new flooring is going!!
