To me the phrase “Figure Friendly” means that the dress does most of the work. It flatters my figure, it’s comfortable to wear and I don’t need to fuss with it.
Basically it’s a no brainer.
Figure friendly Karina dresses do all of that.
Honestly they are just about the easiest, fail proof, most comfortable dresses I own thanks to some clever designs and the stretchy toss-in-the-wash-without-a-care fabric.
They are one of my favourites for travelling because they can be crammed into your carry on bag and still come out fresh.
This Penelope Emerald Diamonds Karina dress was gifted to me. Yes…this is a sponsored post but all of my opinions are my own. I’m not a good liar.
Ask my Mom.
Or don’t. Ha ha!
I love to support companies that continue to manufacture within North America.
The weather has cooled down substantially in the last few days so I decided to layer this up a bit for fall.
I’m wearing a cami under the dress as I did find it to be a bit low cut. I added a recent thrift find, an Anthropologie sweater. Check out the lining on this cardigan!
It’s so pretty I wish it were reversible. I love pieces which have hidden details like that. It’s like you’re carrying around a wonderful secret.
I’m always excited when I find Anthropologie pieces while thrifting. I thrifted this Anthro coat two days ago.
SCORE!
I drooled over it in their catalogue last year.
It looks like it has never been worn. The thrifting Gods were good that day my friends.
These vintage lace up boots were found the first time I went to the Toronto Vintage Clothing show and are still one of my favourites. I bought them at Wild Thing Vintage from the lovely Erica.
The dress is a bit shorter than I’m used to now.
It’s difficult to imagine since only two years ago I was wearing skirts that hit me around mid thigh and I didn’t think twice about it. Now I’m accustomed to having my skirts hit at or just below my knee. Funny how our perception of ourselves changes.
I don’t mind wearing shorter dresses with tights and now with the weather cool down that is what I’ll be wearing with this outfit.
The latest Karina dress I’m loving is the Margaret Harvest Floral…kind of my ideal dress for fall.
I think they have this in a 3/4 sleeve version too!
Get in my closet!
This paired with some vintage brown lace up boots, my floppy hat and my long denim trench…yep that is something I could go for.
I don’t own the dress but I have already styled it in my mind. Am I the only crazy person that does that?
Here are some other Karina dresses I’ve styled up Carolyn Midnight Garden, Ruby in Black & Peach Vintage Floral, Penelope Grey Lace styled four ways , Blue Polkadot Karina Dress, Chevron Striped Karina Dress

You look fab in those vibrant polkadots, great colour choice! x

Ok, I know this post is supposed to be about the dress but I am so distracted by THOSE BOOTS! YUM!
suzanne carillo says
Aren’t they sweet? ; )

That dress is perfect for showcasing those killer boots! I love how you’ve worn it with your super cool trademark beret and that fab cardi. You own it, baby! xxx

I just bought some brown vintage leather boots on Etsy and I’m hoping I love them as much as these. Fingers crossed they fit!

A dress that’s figure friendly, comfortable to wear, doesn’t need ironing and looks fab, all in one! What’s not to like? I love the colour of the one you’re wearing, and how cute is that cardigan. I’m always attracted to pieces like that, with an unexpected lining or quirky buttons. Wow, and those boots: they’re utterly fabulous, too! xxx
suzanne carillo says
Yes…it’s all about the boots. : ). I do have a bit of a “thing” for boots.
Veronica Cooke says
The dress looks lovely on you and I can see how comfortable they are! But, oh my goodness that Anthropologie coat is stunning and stunning on you!
suzanne carillo says
Well that’s not me …ha ha! That’s a model from the Anthropologie website but I do LOVE that coat. I haven’t gotten photos of it yet but I have gotten loads of compliments when I wear it.

It was because of you Jess that I got this green dress. I remember how fabulous you looked in yours. Do you have the Harvest Floral print? I thought that one was very cute too and would look good on redheads.
I *wish* we had Poshmark here.

I learn so much from you. Not just fashion, but core female-thinking. Like your thoughts here on modesty and appearance. You’re the closest thing I have to a teacher, Suzanne, on subjects I care about most. Danke!
suzanne carillo says
I think it has more to do with how I feel about my body at the moment. If I were still running and had super fit legs I might not mind showing them off still. It is very much a personal body confidence issue rather than a modesty issue, for me at least.
Andrea@WellnessNotes says
I love Karina dresses, and I love you in this one! You styled it perfectly. It’s so very much you!
suzanne carillo says
I gotta be me : ) Everyone else is taken ; )

I like the sound of Karina dresses – as you know I like a dress that’s figure flattering and easy to pack! I don’t think they’re sold over here. I used to buy a lot from online stores abroad but lately the customs charges (and exchange rate) don’t make it worthwhile.
suzanne carillo says
Yeah, overseas shipping and customs and duty are killers for me too.
Shelley@ForestCityFashionista says
Holy Guacamole, the Thrifting Gods have been showering you with treasure lately!! I know how you love your Anthropologie, so you must have done a little happy dance when you found the coat.
I don’t know why I don’t wear dresses like the Karina one you have on. It looks lovely on you, and seems so easy to wear, and you’re right, it is very figure flattering. If those boots fit me, I’d wear them in a second!
suzanne carillo says
I was shocked, SHOCKED! I tell you when I stumbled across that coat at a new Value Village store recently. I was so happy when it fit me!
I think the thrifting Gods are good to me because I’m relentless. Ha!
I do think you’d really like these dresses, especially since they have all different styles and lengths. I have to say that they are often what I reach for when travelling or heading out quickly. They are so easy.
jodie filogomo says
I think these boots are absolutely perfect with this dress. To me it’s the yin yang thing going on, but it takes a girly dress and adds a masculine feel!!
XOXO

Isn’t that interesting? I don’t find these boots masculine at all. I could see this outfit being worn with oxfords though and still looking super cute. Because of my short man legs I stay away from that.
Marilee Gramith says
This is a very charming little frock and your addition of the Anthro sweater and the black boots adds LOTS of fun to this stellar green dress backdrop. You’ve got such a great eye for combining accessories to make a look really pop Suzanne! The beret and boots are KEY here!
suzanne carillo says
Yes, that is the same beret someone once said should only be worn by people under the age of 25. Ha! What a joke. Good thing I don’t care about what they think ; )
No Fear of Fashion says
These dresses are made for you! Honestly. It is lovely. You also made it very much your own by adding that ever so cute cardigan (=sweet) and the lace-up boots (= tough). I think I will like it even more with tights. I wonder what colour you will choose.

PS I can never find anything at Anthropologie although I know everybody drools over that shop. But this coat you scored: ooohhh that is a real beauty. To me too.
