I plan on wearing this to the family reunion we have coming up. It's so comfortable I'm trying to decide if I will wear it on the plane.
Jumpsuit – Mexx, Shoes – Me Too!, Belt – Anthropologie, Clutch – TJ Maxx, Watch – Mistura, Glasses – Firmoo
I'm only hesitating because once I had the misfortune of being stuck right at the back of the plane next to the toilets. During the flight someone accidentally walked in on someone that had failed to lock the door. I mean who fails to lock the door? How is that even possible? It's dark in there when the door isn't locked. Like a fridge. The lights don't come on unless you lock the door. But nope, this crazy person didn't lock the door and myself and about 4 other people caught a glimpse that I am still trying to scrub from my brain. Seriously. I freak out if my husband walks in on me in the bathroom and we've been together for 23 years. You can imagine how I felt looking at a total stranger doing their business.
My fear is totally irrational…I think that since I have to remove the whole jumpsuit to go to the bathroom what if I forget to lock the door? Then someone sees me basically naked? In the plane toilet? They might think I'm waiting for my lover to show up so we can join the mile high club. Or I might ruin their lunch. Or traumatize their kids.
Or worse yet…what if part of my jumpsuit touches the floor in the airplane bathroom? ARGH! Or what if it touches the side of the airplane TOILET??? (silent scream) I think it would have to be burned after that.
So these are the dilemmas I'm facing when trying to figure out what I'm packing on my trip.
Welcome to my brain. Over-thinker paranoid germaphobe fashionista.

This cracked me up…I would have been thinking all of the same things! (I walked in on someone in a bathroom once, as well – LOCK THE DOOR, DUH!) My vote is to wear something else on the plane, but keep wearing that awesome jumpsuit when it won’t get crushed or soiled in the tiny bathroom on a plane!
Patti @ NotDeadYet Style says
LOL! I think maybe a nice denim skirt with a long tunic over it for the plane . . . and lock the door : > But srsly, this is one cool jumpsuit, wear it everywhere, and thanks for sharing with Vis Monday.

Beautiful jump suit…you look gorgeous in this color and I love it paired with the leopard shoes! Great job!!
Val Sparkle says
Yes, what if it touches the floor? That one would bother me the most. Or if there’s turbulence and you just want to get back to your seat quickly. I say, wear something simple!
But you could wear this when you get there – it looks fabulous!
Tamera Beardsley says
Oh my… just thinking about all that a jumpsuit would entail in travel…. would probably have me changing my plans.

Hahaha this made me laugh. I totally agree with your phobia of things touching the toilet or the floor though…ewwww! I’m so terrified of standing on planes though that I refuse to drink so I don’t have to stand up and then use the restroom on the plane. I have a near panic attack just getting into the stupid cubicle sized bathroom that feels like it’s tilting out of the plane!
I’m already trying to figure out what to wear when I fly across to (finally) join my husband! A maxi skirt with a chambray shirt is coming out tops at the moment…
MARLA ROBINSON says
You look great in this outfit, but I could never wear it on a plane. I’ve got to be super comfortable when I travel and that means layered clothing, flat shoes, pants with a comfortable waistband, and clothing that can easily be taken off when the restroom calls. Good Luck!
Happiness at Mid Life says
I like to wear maxi dresses on plane rides – they are just as comfy as pajamas! Plus if I bring a light cardi/scarf it can double up as a blanket. Plus, no one will see any parts if the doors happened to open 🙂 You look so chic in this combo!

LOL! Too funny but I totally get your concerns. I would hate for my jumpsuit to touch the floor. Blech! You look fabulous by the way and those shoes ROCK!!
Charlie says
I was thinking ‘take the risk’ because of the pure fabulousness ( and remember when people used to dress up on planes and look stylish rather than wearing their track suit pants, you would have had heads turning) but then the floor thing happened. I agree with some of the others – put it on as soon as you get off the plane and leave it on. Loving your hair at the moment. It’s gorgeous!
Lisanne says
What a fab look, love how you added the belt to the jumpsuit!

What a gorgeous outfit! The detailing on the midsection is so intricate and amazing 🙂

Ok, I’m still laughing. I love how that brain of yours works and most of all love that you share your thought waves with us. That jumpsuit is TO DIE FOR! You make it look effortless to pull off and I know for a fact they’re not an easy item to pull off. Great accent with the belt and perfect, perfect choice of shoes.
Best of luck on that plain ride. In the summer I revert to a knit maxi skirt, they keep my legs warm and you can easily (hike) them up when needed.

I had the exact same experience on an Easyjet flight once. And even after I opened the door while the guy was in there, he STILL didn’t lock the effing door! I think people like that WANT you to see them. Because it is just so very gosh-darn fabulous for the rest of us.
I say wear it. Just go online ahead of time and make sure that you are nowhere near the toilets. Unless it is a long-haul flight, avoid the toilets on the plane. I always do unless its international.

You always make me laugh, Suzanne.I can understand your dilemma here. I usually have similar concerns about airplane bathrooms. I’m also always picturing myself loosing my balance and falling into the toilet during turbulence.
I always fly in the same outfit – black tights and a long tee to cover up my tush. Since I only fly overseas, comfort is essential.
Sue @ A Colourful Canvas says
No, no, no! You don’t want to be half nekid in da plane Suzanne. Too risky, too small, too eeewww. And I will be watching for any other jumpsuit wearers on my next flight, ha ha.
Happy Canada Day!

It’s a beautiful jumper on you. I’d reconsider wearing on the plane for the simple reason, if you need to go to the restroom, the space is very limited.
Lauren says
I have such a hard time finding a jumpsuit – and yours is seriously perfection! And did I mention those awesome leopard heels?! PS found you through the link-up! xo
Tamera says
you had me a airplane bathroom and jumpsuit!! While you look fanatastic in it–might not be the wisest for a trip!
ani says
Also I was crying so hardly hahaha I would have thought the examt same thins Suzanne :-D. I think I have the same jumpsuit and they are a pain in the ass when it comes to going to the bathroom. Maybe just family reunion? 🙂

How long is the plane ride? Maybe you can manage to not have to use the plane toilet at all? haha I think you should totally wear it just for the sheer comfort factor! I’ve been thinking of getting a jumpsuit lately and this one looks serioiusly amazing on you! It’s flattering and dare I say…sexy! LOVE that belt too!

Oh, Gorgeous Girl … pack the adorable jumpsuit, save it for a way less stressy situation and wear something super comfortable and easy! Poor Baby … not irrational, perhaps, as the situation has already happened once, but not likely to happen again. But I get the general ick factor.
Check in early and get seats further away from the restroom?
What you *don’t* need to worry about is looking cute on the plane. You will no matter what.
Have a safe and fun trip, kid!
Rachel says
That’s a legitimate concern! I always lock the bathroom door when I’m home alone with Angel. 😛 But yeah, I didn’t even know it was possible to not lock the airplane bathroom door. I think I’m planning to wear a comfy jersey dress and leggings on my next airplane trip.
Rosemary says
It’s a cute jumpsuit! But I’m with you on the problem of undressing in the tiny airplane bathroom. I don’t worry about anyone waling in on me (I always lock the door very carefully). But I do care about staying clean, and it would be difficult with something like this. I recommend wearing something that reduces anxiety.
Lynaea says
No, no…I think you’re entirely rational. I’m so glad to meet someone a whole lot like me. Except…I have grown somewhat more comfortable with skin exposure. I think. Something about giving birth with a half dozen strangers present (and involved)…and nursing…and children wanting to share my space.
I love the jumpsuit, and the belt. Both flattering, and comfy looking (which actually makes the outfit more appealing to the spectator I think…we can all relax with you). Have fun at the reunion! And on the plane (I just avoid drinking water for awhile (= ) Lynaea @ EveryDayBloom.com

I’m LOL-ing at the silent scream.

Unless I have somewhere glamorous to go immediately after leaving the plane, I dress for comfort every single time. This looks totally glam, but definitely not 100% practical. I am usually the last person to choose practical over cute but kooky, but as my husband (who is from a family of pilots) always points out, when flying it is wise to dress for all eventualities – so flat closed leather shoes, loose pants, don’t wear synthetics, imagine that you have to escape in a fire, or go down that inflatable slide thing and dress with that in the back of your mind.
Have I totally ruined your flight now? I always just knock back as much free booze as I possibly can and that problem is solved!
mrsmarcimcnair@aol.com says
Love the belt! Jumpsuit is fantastic and would be great for the plane because it won’t wrinkle. Have a great trip.
kendra kay says
haha- my thoughts went to the jumpsuit touching the floor as well- i think i would rather someone see me than my clothes touching the floor. i’m all about plane comfort and you’ll look so cute at the same time. go for the jumpsuit, wear it and be daring!! haha!
lorena says
Its a beautiful jumper and the color looks so nice with your hair tht i can imagine why you are having doubts on wearing it on the plane. DONT. It would be a shame to burn such a nice garment 🙂
All those things that you thought could happen CAN actually happen on a plane! I have seen women doing their business and forgetting to lock the door with the intention – i presume – to let the smell out… i will comment no more.
