Groovy Clothing Choices Over 40 & Super Seniors
You know what’s great about being a “mature” woman?
No it’s not the crow’s feet, age spots, discovering that my body doesn’t always cooperate with me anymore or the fact that I will soon qualify for a seniors discount.
F that.
Seniors discount. Since when did 55 become senior?
If 40 is the new 30 and 30 is the new 20 how did 55 get to be the new senior?
You know why they give you a discount?
They know that getting old sucks! They are giving you a discount for having made it that far. Hooray you’re still alive! Let’s give you 10% off your purchase today!
What happens if you live past 80? Are you a “super senior”? Do you get stuff for free?
No, there are quite a few things I don’t care for when it comes to getting older however the fact that I can choose how I dress myself without having to give a flying firetruck about what anyone else thinks is pretty marvellous.
Groovy Clothing Choices Over 40

Many moons ago I worked as a pharmacy technician and I had to wear a long white smock daily.
My personality was hidden behind a cloak of non descript washed out blandness with two large pockets and a turned down collar. I was a ghost, barely visible. It weighed me down.
That wasn’t the job for me. It required zero imagination and strict repetitive mind numbingly boring actions. Plus everyone you meet is sick. For a self proclaimed germaphobe this was an added bonus. {eye rolling}
If you ever see me working in a pharmacy again it is because an alien has taken over my body.
Now I can be who I am.
A fifty year old creative strong highly visible opinionated woman with a love of laughing, pugs and vintage.
And yes, I know the alternative to growing older.
Why can’t there be more than two choices?
I’m grateful for every day that I can get out of bed on my own and still look after myself. I am fully aware it won’t always be this way.
I’m sure I’ll eventually treasure my seniors discount and flash it around like a badge of honour.
Eventually.
Like everything in life I have to grow into the idea.
Does your job dictate the way you dress?
