Fab Sandals(on sale!) Fringed Handbag Boyfriend Jeans Kimono Tank Top Necklace

As is often the case this outfit started with the shoes. Why oh why can’t they make them with a smaller heel? Please!? They would be sitting in my closet right now if they were 2 inches inches shorter.

One of the big trends for Spring is fringe, which works so well with the boho look. This outfit is how I would choose to wear boho style over 40. I haven’t gone overboard with the fringe. Too much of it and you can wind up looking a bit like you’ve gone through a shredder.

This week I’ve been on a rampage with wearing monochromatic head to toe.

I think I’m getting better at it now.

Like they say…practise makes perfect.

How did I make my monochrome outfits? I gathered items of similar colour from my closet and threw them in a pile on my bed. Then I sorted through them to figure out what would work together. One top, one bottom, one extra piece. (Wearing more than 2 pieces together is more interesting, looks polished and stretches your creative brain.)

So scientific!

I didn’t even know I had this much black in my closet.

I wore a version of this on my trip to France last summer.

What do I like about the outfit? I like that it is edgy and super comfortable. The jeans are like wearing yoga pants.

What don’t I like about the outfit? The black is a bit overwhelming, even with the striped grey in the t-shirt.
