Hooray! It’s Jane!
I am loving the fact that Jane Fonda (who is unbelievably 75 friggin' years old!) was chosen as one of the most beautiful people of 2013 by People magazine.
I even love her more when I read how she replied when Access Hollywood asked her to reveal her beauty secrets,
"Good genes and a lot of money."
Hallelujah! Someone is finally being honest.
Asked if there was more to it, Jane said she’s had a little help.
“Being able to have good skin care, facials when I need it [has been important]. I’ve had plastic surgery,” she said. “I don’t like hypocrisy… I made sure that they kept my lines. I didn’t want to lose my wrinkles, I just wanted to lose the bags under my eyes. I don’t like it when it’s over done, but we do live in a time when, if you can afford a good doctor, you can have subtle plastic surgery, which probably bought me five more years as an actor when I could be in movies.
“But if I’m really honest, I think the most important thing comes from the inside and in that sense, exercise and yoga, in particular, helps with that,” she added. “If you feel good about yourself, if you feel good in your skin, in addition to having friends and love around you, it comes through your eyes and your face and your smile and I think people — they don’t realize that’s what they’re picking up on. It’s an attitude that matters more than anything.

Mixed Feelings & Vanity Sizing
I have to say that I have mixed feelings about this dress that I picked up on sale.
Yes I love the pattern. Yes I love the colours. YES it has pockets!
But it's a dress. And the area through the bust/back is a little bit tight.
Let's talk about "vanity sizing"…this is a size 2. I never take a size 2*. I only tried it on at the store because that was the last one they had left. I would have bought the size 4 if they had it. I thought I'd never remotely get a size 2 on my body…but here it is, a little bit tight.
Of course you will note that did not stop me from buying it.
Because this is the summer I'm going to lose that pesky extra 10 lbs and that'll make this fit me perfectly.
Oh yeah.
What's that you say? Never buy an item of clothing thinking you will lose weight to fit into it?
Hmmmm…. that seemed to have slipped my mind momentarily when I saw this gem had been reduced by $90.
I have to say that this vanity sizing is driving me a bit nuts. It used to be that you knew your size and it would work without fail. You could actually tell someone to buy you something if they had your correct size at any store. Now we know why they supply gift cards. 99% people need to return the gift because it doesn't fit right. Each store's sizing is completely different from the next. I can be anywhere from a size 0 to a size 12. Also even within the store items can vary greatly on sizing. What is the point of having a size at all?
