Vintage Dress By Way Of Australia & Hong Kong
This 1960s vintage dress has travelled. My husband bought it for me on one of his trips to Australia. Yes, my husband even shops for vintage for me on the other side of the world!
He actually bought two dresses for me that trip. This is the first one here.

Vintage Dress
I think he did a great job choosing this vintage dress. He knows I like bold colours and wild patterns.

I picked up both of the dresses when I went to visit him in Hong Kong.
A little story that I didn’t share about Hong Kong is their love of foot massages.
They are advertised everywhere and quite common so my husband figured it would be a great idea for me to try out as he often gets them when he travels.
We went together and sat next to each other.
I was ready for a super relaxing hour of foot massage. Who wouldn’t love that?
No one told me this was an S&M foot massage.
It started out okay I mean the gal that was doing it was tiny but I can tell you her hands were similar to Wolverine’s hands.
The pain level became progressively worse until finally she was straight up hitting my foot with her knuckles.
I kept telling her,
“Softer. Soft. Soft.“
In fact I had to grab her hand and tell her that repeatedly.
She pretended like she knew what I was saying but then would go back to her regular beat the crap out of my feet style. All the while they are talking amongst themselves non stop and you just know they are talking about you. I would have given anything to be able to speak Cantonese at that time.
Instead of a relaxing, gentle massage for my feet it felt like I’d been taken to “Fight Club for Feet”.
Once they finished the feet I breathed an audible sigh of relief. Little did I know the pain train wasn’t over. I was motioned to turn around so she could start working my neck and back.
Oh Hell no.
For someone with fibromyalgia the neck and back are notoriously painful. That is why I avoid back massages. They are tortuous for me.
I was worried and told her again to be very “soft”.
Needless to say my pleas were ignored and I finally had to tell her to stop. I couldn’t take this torture massage any longer.
I had a raging headache after that foot massage and had to go and lay down afterwards.
My husband on the other hand was very relaxed.
Ah well, at least I tried it.
While I was taking these photos my pug wanted desperately to get in on the action.
Sitting on the sidelines waiting for her moment and silently judging my lame attempts at an “editorial look”.
“Lame. Oh so very lame.”
“Umm…hello! Down here lady!”
“Maybe if I lay down I’ll get some attention.”
“Finally this woman sees me!”
“Soon I shall reap the benefits, my tummy is grumbling.”
How could I resist a face like that?
Has anyone ever shopped for you when they were travelling? What did they bring you?
DIY Embroidered Blazer In 15 Minutes
DIY Embroidered Blazer
This DIY embroidered blazer was created with a Jones New York blazer that I thrifted from Talize and some great embroidered iron on patches I picked up while in Hong Kong.
If you are interested in creating something like this of your own Etsy has loads of embroidered patches.

You simply position the patches where you’d like them on the blazer and then iron them on with a very hot iron using a pillow case or sheet on top. I also ironed on the reverse side of this to make sure the patches stuck well. It is dead easy and took about fifteen minutes.

It is highly likely that this blazer will be showing up in my Etsy shop in a couple of weeks.
I love it but I find I just don’t wear blazers as often as I used to.

This is me trying to get creative like Melanie for my photos. #FAIL

She makes it look so damn easy.
As soon as I sat down like this my pug thought it was time to cuddle and wanted up on my lap right away. White pug hair and black jeans do not mix.
I read this week that people are more likely to engage with you if you have a photo of yourself smiling.
Do you believe that to be true?
I find that may be true if the smile is authentic. If that person is on Instagram every day with the same massive smile smeared across their face I’m apt to think that no one’s life is that fantastic and they are the super hero of fakity-fake-fake. Then I get turned off. Maybe that’s just me? Maybe I’m too cynical?
Here is an authentic smile.
No fakity-fake-fake here. She knows treats are imminent.
