What do you do when it snows in April?
Scour the internet for spring wedding guest outfit ideas of course!
Tote-ally normal.
Actually these are spring wedding guest or garden party outfits.
Just because I personally have no weddings to attend this spring does not mean I’m not in desperate need of one of these outfits.
Oh no.
Believe me, where there is a blogger, there is always a way to justify buying a new outfit.
Spring Wedding Guest Outfit Ideas
Zoë and I plan on having lots of garden parties. I’ll make the tea and she’ll happily eat the sandwiches. She is helpful like that.
Then she will get in the way while I try to take some photos.
I told you…ever-so-helpful.
Do you have a favourite here?
My personal favourite might be the yellow dress, #2 and those shoes but a close second is the bird dress #4 with those funky 1970’s inspired heels.
It was difficult to find some pretty dresses with sleeves. At least #3 has a short sleeve which I appreciate.
Do you have any weddings to attend this year?
Or other social engagements that require fancy frocks and being a schtar?
If so, when and where? Zoë and I are looking to crash a few parties.
We’re getting snow tomorrow too. I can ALWAYS find an excuse to buy new clothes.
I see no reason to HAVE to have an upcoming event in order to buy a new anything! Besides, it’s good planning to already have one in your closet just in case you get a last minute invite!!
(I say this as I was scouring BooHoo’s website to use my 35% off coupons—luckily I closed the window and came to my senses)
But really—you could easily wear any of these frocks with tennies & a denim jacket to go run errands too!! You have to wear something, right?
I got your back Suzanne—I totally understand your rationale! jodie

My son is getting married tomorrow in Philadelphia PA (USA). Rain, possible snow and freezing temps predicted so there goes the garden ceremony and pictures (now inside). Hoping to get to the venue without wrecking my shoes and hair! Love the colorful dresses and shoes you’ve shown us here. Spring will arrive soon, just not soon enough!
I adore that #2 too! Gorgeous. And the mint green shoes with block heel. Well, just throw on your faux fur tights and yeti cardigan and you’ll be set for a garden wedding. Hahaha. Sorry to hear about the cold temps, especially while I bask, yes, bask here in the searing 15-20C. You need shopping therapy pronto!! If Zoe needs a body double, I could do it. Heh.
Love, love the bird dress, and shoes #8. So spring-y and cheery. xox

No weddings or spring teas to go to – but I love these dresses. I think #3 is my favorite. Hope you have a lovely weekend – with NO snow!
I noticed in my email MC was having a sale but was yet to look. I love the third dress as well, as florals are my go to in spring! Love the style and yellow in 2. Some great dresses. I always find an ocassion to buy a dress! My nephew is getting married in 2017, so I HAVE to look now?☺ great choices!

Suzanne I have no spring wedding to attend either, but I adore that chic yellow dress. We bloggers surely don’t have to justify having some totally gorgeous ensemble at the ready. I like to be prepared for any sudden social engagement, don’t you? I’m currently on a bit of a shopping spree so am practising all my excuses on you x

I had two the best but if I had the figure (or enough money to buy some serious Spanx) I’d go with the first one.
Ooh, I’d wear any of those. #2 is my favorite though. I’m not sure yet if we’ll have any weddings this year…my friend who got legally married in January will probably have a wedding ceremony sometime but they haven’t set a date yet…
2 years ago I wore a dress very similar to #4 but the background color is barely off-white. The shoes I wore were a lot like #6, also from Modcloth, but burnt orangey-red and dark turquoise suede with a black and natural basket weave heel. I thought the bird print was so much fun.
Your combinations are beautiful!
I agree with you, number 2 is my absolute favorite one, so feminine and classy! Loved it, really! So good to have garden parties and weddings! Actually I would have a wedding to go next weekend, but I sent a present, and won’t attend it. I would have to fly 2,000 km, which is OK, but I have been travelling since December and wanted to be more relaxed in April… I am sure the couple will have a busy time to miss me, so, that is fine! I will visit them in May 🙂 Hope you have a great week!

We have quite a few weddings on the calendar this year. I’m standing up in my cousin’s wedding this fall, and we get to pick our own dresses. She’s given me color swatches for deep orange and reds. Anything in that range is fair game. I don’t own much in those shades, so it should be something fun and new to shop for!
Of course spring is my favorite wedding season for all the reasons you pictured: fresh colors, floral prints, heeled sandals, etc. I love the second look with the lemon and orchid color combination, but I think the fourth in mint and coral would probably work best for me. So springy and dreamy! Someone invite me to a party! lol
