I love my denim pencil skirt. It is made out of cotton and lycra and goes with pretty much anything in my closet. It has no buttons or zipper and is pulled on making it extra sleek. I got it in the darker denim so that it would be slimming.

A good pencil skirt will be a workhorse in your wardrobe and make you feel a bit like you're channeling Joan from MadMen without trying too hard. 

Here I've dressed it down with just a button up fitted polk-a-dot shirt and straw fedora. A simple look for summer. I find when it's hot, simple is best.
