Not really.
But it does kind of look like that.
Tunics paired with over the knee boots = comfy
This is so comfortable it feels borderline naked. The thought crossed my mind that I was dreaming having one of those naked nightmares walking around downtown. You’ve had those right? Except as a style blogger I’m wearing my over-the-knee boots.
Of course!
I don’t know what is more shocking in my waking dream…that no one seems to notice that I’m naked, or the fact that everyone just keeps complimenting my boobs boots.
(Ha! the days of boob compliments are truly restricted to dreams now.)
It is too cold here now to walk around naked. Even in dreams.
I’ve layered this up with fleece tights, a turtleneck, extra socks, wool coat and felt hat.
Here are some other inspirational outfits of tunics paired with over the knee boots from one of my Pinterest boards.
My preference is for the one that is belted. I like a defined waist. Often tunics can add visual weight to the body and belting eliminates that issue.
I suppose it could be argued that the first lady is wearing a dress rather than a tunic. It used to be that you could differentiate a dress from a tunic by the length. Nowadays the dresses are so short that 80% of them would be considered tunics in my book.
I also really love the idea of the backwards oversized sweater. This would be so easy to recreate with a thrifted “Grandpa” sweater. I really want to try this look. It is unexpected and chic.
Does this trend appeal to you?
If you haven’t seen it you might like my other outfit with over the knee boots or this one where I pull a Clint Eastwood.

I do have lots of little tunics, but I wear them with leggings or thick tights so that I feel less naked! Still loving these over the knee boots. Looks great with the coat and hat, you must stay cosy! x
You look fantastic, understated yet dead sexy. Loving the tassel pendant, the icing on the cake. The coat and hat are fabulous.
I like a tunic and usually wear a long pendant to add a bit of definition rather than a belt. xxx
A beautiful tunic, and a great look
I like the sweater knits too! Ironically, I have a super large cotton cardigan sitting on my sewing table begging to be refashioned!
This post is OTKB heavy, and I might just cave and get a pair. I just wonder if over the knee boots will be a one season trend?
And by trend, I really mean ‘Will I tire of them quickly?’
I was going to say…the OTKB have been around for a while now and every year they keep coming back. One of my oldest pairs is about 6 or 7 years old now.
They are kind of ideal for BC weather…if you get them in leather or pleather. No rubber boots necessary.
Great look! And yes, it appeals to me. I wear my version of it now – leggings, boots, a long sweater – perfect. Only for me, I’m the opposite – no belt.
I very much like this look. Yours and the examples that you have shown. But hey.. at 61 I am not doing this anymore. I would feel uncomfortable. But you still have years ahead of you in which you can pull this look off easily.
What puzzles me, it that you layer a lot for warmth yet your arms are bare…. ????
Beautiful coat by the way. The whole outfit is.

I guess I didn’t get photos with the turtleneck because it did have long sleeves.
I don’t know why I didn’t get shots of the turtleneck because I wore one with long sleeves, so my arms weren’t bare : )
Your nightmare is my fantasy. Walking around town wearing something this cute would be my wildest dream. You look great. The coat is awfully cute, too.
Oh…okay…I thought your fantasy was walking around downtown naked except for OTK boots. Ha ha! Well…who am I to judge? ; P
Can a girl have TWO fantasies?
This is such a great look, I have only worn my OKB with leggings and long sweaters and having tried it with a tunic/dress. I have a hard time wearing tunics because like you, I prefer them belted but then it feels to short. Great use of colors here!

Tunics with leggings = my favorite outfit these days. Still searching for the right over the knee boots. You look lovely as always!
Go for thigh highs Lana! That way they will be just above your knees : )
Ha, that old chestnut again. I love the idea of OTKB but think you have to have long enough legs to wear them. Otherwise I would have caved years ago. If I wore them they’d only shorten what are very short legs anyway! You, on the other hand, look fab in these and carry the whole look off so well. I love the coat and hat too, really lovely colours to this ensemble.

Well standing in at a mere 5’4″ I’m considered petite (a nice way of saying short). The trick I’ve found is to keep the tights or skinny jeans the same colour or very similar as the boots. That way you don’t break the visual line of the legs.
Love this look – those are the best looking OTK’s I’ve seen all season, and you wear them with such chic-atude. My new set of nightmares have to do with me singing in public – naked or not, it’s terrifying. xox

Ha! I’m sure you would actually be wonderful singing in public. As for me…people would pay me to stop singing.
My first thought was: ‘The colors in the tunic are stunning.’ Then, I saw the fuchsia coat and I was like: ‘Yesssssssssssssssssss.’ Haha. Love the colors in the outfit!

I haven’t had a naked dream for a long time, but I do have dreams where I need to use the toilet, and there’s no privacy – I mean, the toilet will be in the middle of a train station or something. Boots are no help to me then.
I’ve had tunics on my list of desired clothing for a long time now, and yet I have only one. I love the look of tunics and leggings and boots, short or tall. And I’ve been coveting a long tailored coat-blazer like yours! It’s fabulous, especially in that color!
Okay that is hilarious! Horrifying but hilarious! And yes…I can see why you wouldn’t give a damn about the boots at that time.
I used to wear a lot of tunics over leggings with my old over the knee boots, but I haven’t unearthed them for a year or so – maybe I should? As you said, they have been around for a few years, I must have bought mine about 5 years ago. It’s a great look, you can layer with a coat as you have done here (and what a fab colour!) for a less exposed vibe! You’re quite right about a lot of dresses looking like tunics because of the length – I like a bit more coverage so it has to be high denier opaques or leggings for me, as with the shorts. (You should definitely hunt down a suede or tweed pair, btw, you’d look amazing!) xxxx
You’ve inspired me Curtise! Next time I come across some while thrifting I’m going to splurge and buy.
The “naked” look is my current favorite way to dress…okay, I mean the tunic with otk boots look. Naked might not be a good plan. Although naked with otk boots around the house might be something my husband would love. And I do really like the backwards cardigan, I might have to give that one a try.

Ha! Yeah…of course this time of the year you might need to add a scarf to the boots while being naked with the boots in the house. Otherwise it’ll be darn chilly!
lovely and cool outfit!, and it looks really comfy too!. I adore those colors and your pretty boots. Never had a pair of over-the-knee boots, always thought they were difficult to style, but you make them look effortless elegant (and that’s really brilliant!!)
Really fabulous color combo and you look so gorgeous!
Sometimes I’ve dreamed that I walk on my barefeet through some unknown city streets, and I felt very embarrassed!. Not so extrange, as I’m very shy!
besos
Hmmmm, it seems Val and I have the same anxiety/stress dreams! Almost all the dresses sold in stores aimed at 20-somethings are so short they look like tunics to me. I like the whole outfit on you, especially the fuschia coat, which picks out the purple in the tunic.
Love, love this look on you! The color combination is spot on! I have yet to take my OTK boots out of their box. The fact that the weather is still in the 50’s and 60’s might be a contributing factor…
Darlene
You rock the look. Love the fuschia OMG with the hat. Just beautiful. Very much appreciated learning that you are not the stereotypical body “type” for t his look (including the boots). I haven’t felt that it’s a look for me (I’ve viewed myself as “too short” but honestly, you are making me rethink that. Thank you.
Love your tunic and OTK boots! The print is gorgeous , and I love the bright coat and hat!
I also loved the olive grandpa sweater, with the boots – very chic and comfy!
great work beauty!

I love this look with over the knee boots and tunic! You’ve got great thighs so it looks terrific on you. I might try it if I found some great boots!
Oh the colour of that coat – beautiful magenta! And the swirling blue of the tunic is gorgeous. I’m not sure I look so great in tunics what with my hourglass figure!

That is why I too often stay away from them. They can make me look about 8 months preggo. The print and colours on this one sucked me in though.
At first glance I thought the over-the-knee boots where leather leggings, but man, I am really digging those boots ( I like leather leggings too, but your boots just seem Kick-A@#)
I especially love the hat and the color of the hat. And the boots look great as well! I have been thinking about buying me some over-the-knee boots, but have not found The Pair yet.
