Last week I wrote I was learning to live with limitations due to aging and Fibromyalgia. Well it seems that thankfully I got that wrong.
No, I didn't figure out how to stop aging.
Poo.
I know.
I was worried that I had aged 30 years in a day and my Fibromyalagia had be turned up by 1,000 % and within days I would be wheelchair bound.
Nope.
Turns out I had mold poisoning.
My office is in the basement where the room with the mold issue is located. I didn't realize it until 2 days after, when I was still so sick I thought I needed to go to hospital.
The mold was blooming.
Normally blooming in spring is great…not when it comes to mold. It stinks like you cannot believe and is highly toxic.
Hopefully this year we have looked after the problem for good.
Being horribly sick due to that for a full week is crazy. I know I'm more sensitive than most people to chemicals and smells but this really impacted my health and I am still dealing with it. I'm hopeful that next week I will be back to normal.
You think you're doing everything right, looking after your body and then the flippin' house comes along and makes you sick.
On the bright side I lost 6 lbs since I haven't been able to eat. Not an ideal way to go about it though.
These photos I took before I got sick and before this amazing weather which finally decided to grace us with it's presence after being late by a full 2 months.
The dress I scored for $30 at the Hamilton Vintage show a few weeks back. I love it!
It is 100% cotton and will be perfect for when we hopefully visit France in June.
Shoes – Nine West, Dress & Handbag – Vintage
I figure I need to find one of those transparent nylon head scarves that my Grandma wore to really finish the look.
So here is to starting off a better week without sickness or mold and only lovely Spring flowers blooming.

This fits you so pefectly and you look just lovely, lovely in it!
Thanks Ani.
I have to say I had no idea that mold could be so toxic. I am slowly starting to feel like myself.
Hope you are feeling well too since I know you had some medical issues this year.
Wish I could be there to help you out a bit, you know, a shopping buddy or a lunch date. On the bright side, at least you found the problem and it will soon go away (thank goodness).
The fun part, that vintage dress has France written all over it, so I sure hope it works out for you (need a travel companion?), You didn’t say much about the incredible vintage purse but I LOVE IT as well as those amazing sunglasses. Super fun look! Hoping this week will be much better for you.
Suzanne, that sounds horrible! But I’m glad you diagnosed the source before you got any sicker.
This dress is brilliant. I’m pinning you. Your purse is my favorite. I’m a fool for vintage tapestry purses with clasps (I own a few myself, but no big ones. I am on the hunt 🙂
Love, peace & grace,

Mold poisoning? I hope you feel better soon. You look like you just stepped out of a vintage catalogue! The dress looks new, it is in a very good condition considering it being vintage, good find and the tapestry purse, it’s a classic!

Oh dear, hope you’re feeling better. My Mom taught school in a mouldy portable for years (without knowing it) and got really sick at one point. She still has nasal and respiratory issues.
That is one lovely dress, and I love the way you’ve accessories it with the punches of yellow. And quelle bag! J’adore!
Where in France are you visiting?
Sorry you were so sick!We had the dreaded mold in our old cottage and it made everyone, including the cats, sick. Hope you are much, much better today!
Love your cotton dress for Paris, and your terrific vintage bag. Thanks for linking up to Visible Monday xoxox
So glad you’re feeling better! I had a 24 hour bug over the weekend myself. There’s nothing like a day of complete destruction and fever to make me feel humble.
You are my favorite post in this Week’s Not Dead Yet Style collection and I thought you should know it. Oh, girl, you are just rocking that black and white dress like none other. And the shoes! What about them? Where did you get them?

So cute outfit! I am sorry to hear that you have been sick though! I used to have headache every Saturday afternoon which some weekends even turned into migraine, but after we moved house it stopped, so it must have been something in our previous house that made me sick. Get well soon!
That is such a cute dress! I love it with the retro sunglasses!

Suzanne you look so pretty in this wonderful dress. Hope you feel better soon.
Hey Suzanne, I was happy to read today that you are feeling better and have your usual appetite back. I’m relieved that you identified the problem because mold toxicity can be sneaky, yet debilitating. Especially to be already coping with fibro. I was disheartened to read in an earlier post that fibromyalagia has wormed it’s way into your lovely self. Have you tried NAET? A friend of mine found enormous success with NAET treatments.
I have been intending to comment on your outfit since your post went up a few days ago! I adore this dress, and you’ve styled it brilliantly. And, of course, I envision you with a red scarf streaming behind you as you drive the French countryside…but no mishaps at all! I bought a big piece of turquoise gingham from the thrift store recently knowing it would be a dress. I appreciate seeing this one as it gives me a better idea of the appropriate design lines.

Sorry about the mold- terrible!
The dress and the whole outfit: wonderful.
Glad you are finally feeling better!
Darling Suzanne! This sure was a good news, bad news post! But I’m happy you’re on the mend. Don’t try to hard to hang on to that 6 lb. loss … hard way to do it, and you are perfectly tiny as is.
Love your dress … so Mad Men. Perfect with yellow touches.
Really, no one does it better than you.
This is the perfect outfit for France. It is trim and perfectly cut, crisp. I love everything about it, especially your choice of accessories. Yes, down with mold! Nasty stuff. I’m relieved that you identified the culprit of this sickness. Whew.
First of all, so sorry about the mold and getting sick! At least you know it wasn’t a strengthening of the Fibromyalgia.
Second, you look so adorable!! You know I love that dress! A great gingham cotton piece is absolutely perfect for summer!

You poor thing to have had mold poisoning, hope you’re recovering now. Looking beautiful, despite the recent sickness, in that gorgeous summery dress. The bag is adorable too.
I’m visiting you as a fellow Visible Monday blogger, do pop by and check out my outfit if you get the time! http://www.kikiandthegypsy.blogspot.co.uk
Thanks Trina…thankfully the worst has passed and I’m feeling much better now : )
The vintage purse I picked up from a consignment store last year. It is quite unique.
Thanks for pinning me : )
You and I have the same addiction…I don’t know what it is about tapestry bags but I am very drawn to them.
BTW…I got the shoes yesterday. Thanks so much for sending those to me. Seems like I picked the right size…whew.
Yep, mold on cheese = good. Mold on wall = sick.
Thankfully I think we have it looked after now. At least I have my fingers crossed.
I think this dress is great because it is black and white I can basically wear any colour of accessories. I’m looking forward to changing it up in the future like you do with all your neutrals.
Thanks for the get well wishes…I’m feeling much better this week.
We will be heading to Nice, in the South of France where my husband is from.
