DIY Floral Belt
Sometimes I get “in the zone” and go overboard while creating.
I admit that when I made this DIY floral belt things got out of hand. It was supposed to be just a floral decorated hat band, or head band or even a floral choker. In the end I got carried away and added too many flowers.
It still looks fine as a hat band, or a head band/floral crown, but the whole idea of a floral choker is a bit much now.
It was very easy to make. The instructions are the same as what I used on this DIY floral hat band, only difference was rather than a closed band I attached it to an open fabric ribbon which makes the piece multifunctional.
I’ve worn this with colour but initially I had planned on wearing it with this dress…
I like to challenge myself though and black is just too easy. Pairing it with clashing colour and two patterns took it from beginner to advanced level and reminded me a bit of the Gucci campaign.
It feels a bit like wearing one of those fanny packs from the 80’s only it is made of flowers and doesn’t hold anything. #totallyimpracticalaccessories
I had made this as a gift but when I went so overboard I decided I needed to keep the piece as I was worried it was overwhelming. I need to take photos of this in my hair when it is curled. I think it will be lovely.
I may have a slight massive addiction to creating and decorating with flowers.
Case in point, my office…
I love the fact that no matter the time of year it is always spring in my office.
How do you feel about a floral belt? Too feminine, too much, or just right?

First, I LOVE your flowery office! And the belt works perfectly with the top & skirt! Not too much at all! Definitely just right!
The other side of my office is all furnished in vintage pieces. It is a great juxtaposition.
Love your office and the way you have decorated with flowers. The belt looks lovely on you, very unique and the colors are perfect with the blouse.
Thanks Sarah : )
What a fun idea to create a dimensional floral belt! I’m thinking how cute it would be to wear all the floral fun at the BACK of a dress, maybe have a few leafy streamers hanging from the belt as well.
This kind of belt can clearly dress up any solid color dress but you reveal the artist that you are by combining it with a multi- color print.
You look beauteous in your creation Suzanne!
You worried it would be “overwhelming”? Have you met me? Is there anything I do that isn’t carried to crazy excess?!
It’s stunning Suzanne!! Of course, I can certainly see the resemblance to a fanny pack–ha ha! Just make sure you’re not wearing it during one of those hot flashes!!

I think if you have a defined waist like you do, the flower-covered belt is a pretty accessory. For those of us “straight up and down” types, I think I would look like a garden exploded from my midsection 😉 I would definitely wear it as a hat band or a hair/head piece though. I used to pick up fabric flowers with clips from the cheap accessory stores and attach them to scarves that I tied around my head. Definitely says “Summer”!
Ha! : )
It’s a great belt and I love how it defines your waist. I would think the flowers would add to my oversized stomach so I would have to try it to see if it would work for me.
Another great DIY project!
Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!

I’d wear that! I’m always on the lookout for the perfect floral crown. All the ones I’ve seen either look too cheap or ARE too expensive. DIY is probably a good option when it comes to floral accessories!
I think it’s a beautiful floral accessory, lovely on a hat and also lovely as a belt!.
It looks fabulous on your floral blouse, such a summery outfit, love it!!!
I’m not the best people to give advice about sober accessories. For sure, I’d wear this floral piece on my head with joy!! and a smile on my face!

You and I are both inspired by flowers and colour : )
I think it is fantastic. I don’t know whether it would also be a good idea for me as my waist is not the point I want emphasis on. On the other hand, it might distract from belly and if I leave the sides without flowers and black, perhaps I will create the illusion of a waist. Thanks for your creativity. It inspires me.

If you can already improve on perfection (the hat and the office) then the belt is it! I love it. You’re a genius! xxx
I LOVE that belt! I love that you paired it with a print top. I totally would have gone the easy route and paired it with just black. Kudos!!
Your office is gorgeous! And I LOVE the floral accessory. Sings of spring!
Nothing beats a good floral fanny pack….who knew that’s all it took to make fanny packs cool. I saw this on Instagram and loved it! I love flowers and it would look fabulous with so many different things. Funny you mentioned your office. I still have a photo of it saved that I showed my husband because I want to do that somewhere in our house…
