Have you noticed that pineapples are everywhere right now?
The Refreshing Pineapple Trend
Who doesn’t love a pineapple? Especially in summer?
I wasn’t specifically seeking out this trend, but the colour of this tee and the bold sequins drew me in.
The fact that the graphic was a pineapple was just a happy coincidence.
As a woman over the age of forty fifty, I don’t have a problem wearing a big sequinned graphic on my chest. If I want to wear a big sequinned graphic on my butt it is still my prerogative, although I don’t think it would be very practical nor comfortable, sitting on sequins is like using your butt as a pin cushion.
The reality is that we can wear whatever we like as long as we are happy and comfortable with it.
That is one of the brilliant things about being an adult, you can choose how to dress yourself.
You don’t need the magazines to dictate what you should or shouldn’t wear.
Wear what makes your heart happy.
It’ll put a smile on your face and those around you.
I received a belated birthday gift in the mail on Friday from fellow blogger, the lovely Trina from Tea Time With Trina. She obviously knows me very well because this is what she sent…
I have a feeling she has a big pineapple tea party coming up soon at her house. She puts on the most amazing parties! One of these days I’m going to make it out to Utah for one of them.
Are there any current trends that have caught your eye recently?
Can I interest you in some pugapple upside down cake?

😀 Hahaha, I love fresh pineapple.
Although I’m not a great fan of having a sequinned Piece of fruit on my chest. I just looked at some T-Shirts with sequinned fruit…Looks nice on others.
However, you look great wearing it!
And I’m totally in love with your pinneaple-pug Card.
Have a very HAPPY week xo 🙂

LOL……the pug card and cake are too cute! I love pineapples and still miss the pineapple lamps that I didn’t snatch up at the thrift store a few years ago. I was in a reasonable frame of mind….I already have lamps, blah, blah, blah…but those lamps were stunning!
All things nautical are showing up in fabrics these days…cute little anchors etc…I’m kinda lovin’ them.

Pineapple lamps? They sound incredible!!!
I’ll be on the lookout for nautical themed pieces now.

The cake! I die from loving that pug art. And you look splendid in a pineapple shirt, wearing what your heart desires. xox

Are you sure that T-shirt was not designed with you in mind?
It is the perfect colour…and the pineapple is practically matching your hair!
White jeans and yellow shoes are great partners for this fresh and fruity look.

Yes, the matchy-matchy with my hair pretty much sealed the deal on the tee.

I like this top! It has pizzazz… like you. And the pug-card is just too cute. 🙂

Hehe! Loving the pug art, the blingy pineapple on your chest and Trina’s brilliant birthday card.
Like pineapples, it’s so refreshing to have blog friends like you who ramp up the colour, craziness and glamour with each year, unlike those boring over who play it safe, dress it down and bore the pants off me.
Keep being fabulous, my friend! xxx

I love the pineapple trend – it does seem like such a happy fruit!
Trina says
Look at you! Of course I absolutely love that Tee, where on earth did you find it? I just ordered one from jcrew but its far from sequined, dang. I don’t think you have an excuse now, just book that flight.
And stop posting these cute pineapple items, I trying to be good you know.
suzanne carillo says
You’ve got me hooked on the pineapple craze! I blame it all on you!
Melanie says
Hahaha!!! Those pugs!
Sitting on sequins, you have a point there (get it? groan). I LOVE your message and your sequinned shirt for a fruity chest! And that amazing bag Trina sent you. I thought you had gone to a party there.
Pineapple is such an odd fruit, so prickly outside and so sweet on the inside it makes my teeth shiver. Current trends? I can’t really think of any but I’ll know what they are when I reach for them off the rack.
suzanne carillo says
Yes, that is what trends are when you thrift. You don’t know them until you discover them hidden in the maternity or menswear section.

That’s such a regal looking pugapple. The first one. The second one, not so much. But probably more realistic. Love the shirt and the bag. Makes for a very tropical Toronto! A sequinned pineapple but would be a bit pokey – a standing up only item that is for sure. Xx
suzanne carillo says
Ha ha! That’s what I thought. Could be the Queen pug and the other one is definitely more like my pug.

Of course you bought that card—it’s so perfect for you!
And can we talk about how great that green looks on you? I know I’ve said it before, but as a lover of white jeans, I just adore this outfit from head to toe! The white jeans really make the shirt pop (as opposed to if you were wearing blue jeans) and the yellow shoes make me smile!!
I wouldn’t say I’m a pineapple lover as decoration, but I do love to eat them!!
