Karina Dress Styled Three Ways
I adore purple and grey together. This old purple leather jacket is a favourite of mine.
Grey is a wonderful option as it isn’t as harsh as black.
The subtle pattern on this dress creates lush visual texture and the neutral colour works with everything I own.
This dress would be an option to consider instead of your typical LBD.
The tone on tone pattern adds personality.
Here is me doing my best “pro model” pose to show you the dress has pockets.
It only took me 8 years to master that pose.
Yay me!
Did I ever mention that before I had my blog I was intensely camera shy? I despised photos of myself. As soon as the camera came out my body and facial muscles would stiffen. My photos looked like mug shots of serial killers. I avoided having my photo taken as much as possible prior to my blog.
Style blogging has taught me to relax a bit more in front of the camera.
I was a bit like Chandler from Friends.
To this day there are years in my life where no photos were taken. Unlike today’s “selfie” obsessed generation the non existence of photos with “likes” didn’t measure my self worth. I fear for the young girls that are growing up with the added pressure of social media influencing their internal dialog.
I have no sweet segueway back to the dress so we’ll just jump back shall we?

December Karina Dress Giveaway
Tomorrow I have one more outfit to share.
You might like to see how I styled another Karina dress for the summer.
Love the different ways you’ve worn this dress. It’s nice that you are able to wear a shirt underneath it without bulges since the fabric is knit jersey. BTW, I got my dress this week! I was really excited to get it but I am not sure it’s that flattering on me. The empire waist seems to fit me funny and add more girth to my hips.

Hope to see you Thursday for TBT Fashion link up.
So happy to hear you finally got your dress! I think they might allow an exchange if you aren’t sure if it flatters you. Doesn’t hurt to ask.
I love how you were able to transform that dress three different ways. Every look is a winner!

I agree that this beautiful Karina dress can be an alternative to the LBD. You’re very creative with your styling choices! The black beret is the perfect topper.
Blogging has changed me in many ways too. Feeling more comfortable in front of the camera is one of them.
You look like you were born to be in front of the camera. It is interesting to note you didn’t always feel that way.
Perfect styling, as always, Suzanne.
I spent years hating having my photo taken too. Blogging does wonders for one’s confidence in so many ways! xxx
That purple leather coat is all kinds of wonderful on you! What a thing of beauty.
Oh yes, I don’t think many photos exist of me from 20s until way into my late thirties. Probably a good thing! xxx
Ha ha! I hear ya ; P
When I was browsing Karina’s site recently, this print also caught my eye. I think it feels opulent, romantic, and oh-so versatile. It’s amazing how the different colors you’ve paired with it make it appear warmer or cooler. I love how the blue pops against it, but I think the look with the fur scarf and red blazer is my favorite. It’s such a whimsical combination of textures and colors!

Thanks Liz. I do love how you styled your plaid Karina dress and linked to you on one of my posts here.
How very French Girl. Tres Chic! Yeah, I still look like I’ve got a stick up my yoohoo when I’m in photos. I look forward to the day when I am a super model like you!!
Isn’t it all about our own perception of ourselves? I always think you look so relaxed and natural in front of the camera.
I like that you use this gray dress as a canvas. All three outfits are fantastic. I came here to learn a trick or two. The teal/turquoise one is my favorite, but all the items you pick are exquisite, and it makes all the difference really.
Thanks Natalia : )
Grey is definitely much kinder than black and I love grey and purple together and this is no exception. Plus we’re a beret – outfits are always better with a beret!
You should do a youtube tutorial on how to do a model pose. Even better open a Posing School and get all the bloggers to enrol!!!

I will do a Zoolander modelling school! Ha! At least I’d feel qualified then.
My favourite is the dress with the plaid blazer too. Love the photo of Zoe with the tie – her expression is priceless!
I had no idea you used to be camera shy- how interesting and brave then that you chose to make a fashion blog and now are a pro at getting in front of a camera (you joke, but I really like that pose!)
I am a fan of grey in winter and love how you matched it to purple!
Beautiful photos…
You have mastered the posing my dear. If you were that shy, then you have come a long way. Styling was something I bet, you always knew how to do. Great ways of styling this dress.
