Chilled Out In Floral Pants For Fall
I’d seen these floral pants before while thrifting but they were two sizes too small. When I came across them again recently on sale at my favourite consignment store I snapped them up.
Do you find floral trousers too busy?
Compared to skirts or dresses I find that they can overwhelm my eyes quite quickly, thus why I’ve stuck with a plain tee and shoes.
This is my fourth fifth pair of floral trousers…but hey! who’s counting?
And if it’s you…stop!
Five Floral Pants For Fall
Once it starts to cool down I’ll pair this same outfit with one of my leather or suede jackets. Right now we’re still enjoying beautiful summer weather.
Did you notice how wearing my tee untucked visually shortens my legs? I’ve sacrificed leg length for relaxed style. Life is all about compromise. At least that is what my husband is always telling me.
Do you own any floral pants? Are they strictly for summer or do you wear them throughout the year?
BTW…my upcoming vintage show can be accessed here.

Floral Bomber Jacket Trend For Fall
The floral bomber jacket trend for fall is everywhere. I’ve been looking for the elusive authentic vintage embroidered satin bomber jacket via thrifting for years now. It is like trying to find a unicorn.
As an interim fix for my craving, I tried out this beautiful patterned floral print bomber from H&M.

When I bought the jacket I thought the fact that it wasn’t elasticized on the bottom and was longer than a regular bomber jacket would be a bonus for me. I’ve always felt that bomber jackets add weight to a frame when you have a chest. Turns out the longer jacket cut my body and made my legs look like Oompa Loompa stumps. A short term solution was to tuck the bomber jacket into the skirt however, I chose not to keep the jacket in favour of trying to find another that suited my body shape better.
As luck would have it I stumbled upon a fabulous bomber jacket last week thrifting.
It isn’t satin, it is an unusual fabric for a bomber jacket. Wait till you see how I DIY’d that sucker.
Stylish Women Over 40 Rocking The Floral Bomber Jacket Trend For Fall
Each of these 40+ bloggers have done such a fab job of showing off their floral bomber jackets.
When I was eleven years old bomber jackets were very big. I had to have one exactly like the cute boy in my class…his name was Scott but he didn’t know I existed. It was black with some white stripes on the cuffs and had snaps instead of buttons or a zipper. The coolest way to wear them was with a hoodie underneath and the jacket left open. Didn’t matter if it was below zero outside, the jacket needed to stay open to achieve “the look”.
I don’t think I owned another bomber jacket until I bought this one thrifting a few years ago all because of another cute guy, Ryan Gosling in Drive. Here is the funny post about my bronze bomber jacket.
I still want to have a photo of Zoë embroidered onto the back of that satin bomber. I haven’t been able to source a place to do that for me.
Since I have no pug emblazoned satin bomber jacket to show you I’ll leave you with a photo of my rather robust pug who is very disgruntled that I took the photo from below. This camera angle does nothing for her figure.
Do you own a floral or embroidered bomber jacket? Are you thinking of getting one? Or do you think the trend will come and go too quickly?
