What To Wear On Vacation In Amsterdam Outfit #4 & Portable Cushions
Things are getting a bit hectic around here now. I still haven't figured out the rest of what I'm packing! Talk about waiting till the last minute.
That is what happens when you have too many options.

Lovely Greetje asked me if I would just be taking a carry-on bag for my trip…
of 10 days…
to meet other fashion bloggers.
That cracked me up.

Not in this lifetime.

Especially since Sue is supposed to fit into my bag.
Sue is tiny.
But not carry-on tiny.

I wanted to show you the amazing embroidery on this skirt and the back ruffle. I bought it at the same sale at Anthro as the jumpsuit. You may remember I tried it on for my birthday and was was turned off by the huge price tag vowing to return should it go on sale. When I went into the sale room and saw my size left I felt like I needed to go and buy a lottery ticket.

Sandals – Clarks (0ld), Chambray shirt – Tristan and America (old), Skirt – Anthropologie, Necklace – Handmade
So I leave you with this parting Kardashian wanna-be butt shot.
Every time I see her butt I think just how it must be nice having a portable massive cushion everywhere you go. No worries about sitting on a hard chair or bench for any length of time.
I have a couple of posts scheduled (I'm still hoping to get some shots of my other outfits…) while I'm gone but otherwise I will see you all on the other side of Amsterdam!
How To Wear A Jumpsuit – Advanced Level – If You Wore A Trend The First Time…Can You Wear It Again?
Aside from the whole getting-naked-to-go to-the-bathroom issue I’ve fallen back in love with jumpsuits.
This is the one I have and love

But I’ve been on a fashion quest for a patterned one since I saw this photo

Of the incomparable Vix.
When you look up fabulous in the dictionary you will see Vix’s name.
And this one
Ideally I wanted to find a vintage one like Vix…but it just didn’t happen.
Wearing a plain jumpsuit is beginner level. Finding and buying the right patterned jumpsuit is definitely advanced level.
Too large of a pattern and it’ll make me look larger than I am. Too small of a pattern and it reads as a solid to the eye. I was like Goldilocks looking for her perfect jumpsuit. Not too big, not too tight, not too long, not too short.
It needed to be
just
right.
This one.

When Anthropologie had their sale last week I went in to try it on. Then my husband forced me to buy it.

I know.
The nerve.

The jumpsuit ticked off all my the boxes; right length, not too tight, pockets!, bright, floral, open neck, cinched high waistline, and guys…
it is made of silk!
It is literally like walking around in silk pajamas.
I feel so Hugh Hefner.

All I need is a pipe and several bunnies in my arms.
These two will do nicely : )
This is outfit #3 I’m taking to Amsterdam.
Now please let the weather Gods smile upon me when I’m there so I can wear it.

It must be noted that I did wear this trend back in the early 80’s and I don’t care that I’m wearing it again now despite what Stacy London says,
“If you wore a trend the first time around, you don’t get to wear it the second time around.”
It suited my body type then and it still suits it now. Plus it makes my little hobbit legs look much longer than they really are.
Fashion rules are for fools.
Wear what looks good on you.
Wear what makes you happy.
Simple.
It just so happens that I made the necklace only a few days before I bought the romper.

Funny how that works.
Are there any trends you are enjoying wearing again despite having worn them the first time they were popular?
