Well a few of you guessed correctly that in a state of weakness ( I claimed temporary insanity to my husband) I broke down and purchased this lovely vintage frock from Sweet Trash…
It's actually at the tailor's now getting shortened by about 6 " to just above my knees. It is a dreaded circle skirt that I no longer dare to shorten on my own.
We stopped by an abandoned farm to take these photos. This dress really suits the location.
The dress is 100% cotton and wearable in our 35 C heat wave.
Sadly that gorgeous 1970's maxi was polyester.
The other "Lavern and Shirley" ginham dress was at the cash register and then I decided to try it on one last time and it turns out it didn't fit correctly through the back. It was too long through the torso and would have required too much altering to fit correctly. {sigh}
I still have my eyes on that beautiful pleated floral skirt. Maybe when it goes on sale : )
My girlfriend bought these amazing Miss Mooz shoes that I've had in my online shopping cart forever. Turns out she liked my orange vintage Ferragamos for her frock so we did a tradesie. I love it that we have the same size of feet!

Um, WE have the same size feet 😛 I love those shoes. Miz Mooz is my absolute fave brand.
I want to go vintage clothes shopping with you. This dress and these photos are so beautiful.

Okay, perfect choice and a truly beautiful location. This dress really is You! And, I agree that altering the gingham would have been a challenge. You’ve got at least one other gingham dress that I covet, so I should feel relieved.
If those walls could speak, the stories they would tell…
Great pics. That is a wonderful dress and I love your shoes.
Love the dress–with those shoes and that setting you look like you stepped out of the 1930’s!!
Fabulous photos!! What a perfect backdrop for your pinafore – you look so sweet as a farmer’s wife!! 🙂
Pura vida – enjoy life!!

Love the vintage vibe in both the dress and the setting. And those oxfords!!! Love them! You look like you could be in a magazine!!
Wow, what a awesome photo session, from the styling to the location. Those oxfords really seal the deal. I remember my grandma having a dress very similar to that one.
Gorgeous dress! It looks like it was tailored to fit you. <3 The shoes, though. My goodness. Those shoes blew me away! I couldn't stop staring! So awesome! Beautiful ensemble!
Thanks so much for the follow on Bloglovin'! I started following you as well!
Cheers!

Yes…yes we do have the same size of feet : ) Thanks for reminding me lady! LOL
Thanks Marla. Most of the photos were taken by my girlfriend Hazel…the one that swapped me those amazing shoes.
Thanks Tamera : ) I’d seen that farm for over a year and wanted to take photos there. I’m so glad I waited for this dress to do it.
Thanks Carmen : )
Thanks Shanna : )
I couldn’t believe how well the shoes went with the dress either.
My grandma didn’t have any dresses like this. Or at least that I remember.
Thanks Anna. Found you via another blog and I love your quirky creative style : )
Beautiful dress!!! And I love those shoes!

Wow, what a perfect location for that dress! And the shoes look cool, so retro. I really want to try some Miz Mooz shoes – guess I’d better get online and find some!
Everything is perfection about this outfit – the shoes (I want them!) to the perfect fitting dress and the abandon farm house! You’ve got such a great eye for style!

I don’t shorten circle skirts myself anymore either, as it has resulted in severe lopsided wonkiness on too many times in the past! Looking forward to seeing the farmer’s wife frock in its new, shorter form. Do you have snakes there? Here it would be basically an invitation to deadly viper fangs to go poking round an abandoned place like that.
There is no way in hell I’d have ever gone anywhere near that place if I thought I might see a snake. I’m petrified of them. I’m sure you’re right though. Now that I think about it. Ontario does have snakes. I was probably walking right by some without even knowing it. I think I might need therapy now.
I have a couple of pairs of Miss Mooz but these ones are by far the most comfortable. You don’t feel the heel at all.
What a glorious dress and I love these pictures! The blue color suits you so beautifully and of course the shoes just make this outfit so fun and stylish. Love the retro vibe!

Yay! Okay, I guessed wrong but that really is a gorgeous one on you, and I also love old barns for photo backdrops.
I really love this whole look, you look so feminine. ALSO blue color complements your beautiful red hair. Great photos – there is a vintage vibe to these photos, very creative post!

I love the location of these photos! That dress is quite darling, I’d love to see what it looks like after it gets hemmed. Oh, and your hair in a ponytail is super cute!
