Dress/Tunic Sandals Jeans Handbag
I’ve styled this with jeans as I thought the “dress” although super pretty, looked more like a tunic/top. I think this would also look great with white jeans.
I have a tunic/top similar to this that I love but I always wear it with tights. Now, looking back on those photos though I think I need to wear it with leggings or jeans. It looks like I’m wearing it with slippers in those shots! But they are booties ( I swear! ). Need to restyle this dress/tunic I think. With jeans maybe.
How do you feel about styling a super short dress with jeans or leggings? Does it kill the style vibe for you?

I have styled short dresses with skinnies and it works fine. Like a tunic. If they are a bit too long I hoist them up with a little belt. Don’t know about this flared jeans business though, especially because they are high waisted again. It wears lovely (no poking in the belly any longer) but I feel it is more difficult to style for me as my figure doesn’t allow me to tuck in tops into my jeans. The top/dress you styled in 2012 looks spectacularly lovely.
I feel a little too exposed in a short dress over tights (though less so with thick opaques and knee high boots) so I’d wear it over leggings, since I don’t have any jeans. I’m pondering doing that with the beaded dress I just bought, it’s too short for me on its own. xxx
Hey buddy. Want to mention that Jen enabled comments on her blog. If you want to leave a comment, I’m sure she (and I) would enjoy hearing your thoughts. Big hug!
Thank you, Suzanne. Really. Hug hug hug!!
Ooooohhhhh…love the pink bag (I bought one just this color last September, but haven’t had much chance to carry it yet). Like the lower heel on the sandals, too. Tunics (short dresses same difference) are one of my favorite things to wear over leggings or jeans (as long as they’re HEAVY leggings, can’t stand the skimpy ones).
I love those jeans so much. I have to rely on tall for the lengths so it’s slim pickens for me finding great pants in a bootcut or flare. So sad Victorias Secret stopped selling pants. I wear straights or skinnies mostly because it’s less crucial in the length category. I’ve seen someone on my bus with a purse just like that but in black. It’s highly functional with a mid section and two outter zippered sections which I just love. I think I need someone floral. Can you believe I don’t have a thing??
Darn it, I don’t think my comments are getting through again!! But I just have to comment on those jeans. Love them so much but I have to find my bootcut or flares in talls which makes it more of a challenge. I miss Victoria Secret pants and denims because they came in 36 length. Cute purse!!! I’ve seen that in black on my bus and it’s so function with three separate compartments.

Comments are working Joni : )
Love the tunic as you wore it and
as you styled it.
But I think for it to work with the jeans it should have side slits, which I could not see.
Then it could work with any kind of denim, skinnies, or flares, so long as they are tapered.
Love that floral print! And I loved the blue tunic from earlier!
I think tunics and short dresses are super cute over leggings and tights. That’s the only way I’d wear them anyways. I do think it changes the vibe from slinky and youthful to more bohemian and eclectic. I also like the juxtaposition of the soft watercolor florals with rugged denim. It keeps things interesting!

Leggings or no leggings, I love the print. I am so into florals right now it’s like I’ve lost my mind, so of course I’m totally diggin’ this.
Cute top, but I think it’s too flowy to pair with these jeans. I’d team it with a high-rise jean and belt it, giving emphasis to the waist and visually whittling off pounds. Or, I’d toss it over leggings and layer a long cardigan over it with boots. Great print!

Oh how I love that bag. It is the one colour I don’t have and crave for.
