You won’t see me wearing white very often, but something about this gingham skirt made me put on a white shirt.
Doesn’t this go well with my DIY hat?
I wore a version of this outfit to the 40+ Blogger meet-up in Vancouver.
When I travel though it is only sensible shoes, a cross body bag, and a wider brim hat. Gone are the days when fashion trumped comfort. I blame that partly on aging and partly on fibromyalgia.
Maybe I need to consider a fibromyalgia friendly fashion post in the future.
Too many F’s?
Isn’t this little wicker handbag sweet? I picked it up at a consignment store.
I adore this skirt. I think it might be the best purchase I made all summer.
Have you bought anything this summer that you truly love?
Congratulations to Alice who won the Karina dress! Thanks to everyone that entered and thanks again to Karina for sponsoring the giveaway.
Linking up with Throw Back Thursdays
I like the look of full skirts like this, but they don’t work well on me. On you, however, it’s great. My favorite purchase this summer was my black jumpsuit, which i anticipate wearing into Fall. Your DIY hat looks very cute on you, too.
I do adore your black jumpsuit. I can see why it is your favourite.
A beautiful skirt, and a wonderful look.
Thank you : )
Ah…you know how I feel about this skirt! And your fresh and a teensy bit flirty look today makes it sing even sweeter.
And people….trust me….Suzanne looked just as stylin’ and fashionable while hoofing it around Vancouver!
Thanks Sue : )
I love, love this skirt, with any hat or shoes (cute shoes too!).
I love this skirt and this outfit. Oddly, the things I bought this summer that I truly love are my own gingham skirt and another circle skirt with a fruit print on it.
Is that your red gingham skirt? I love that one too.
Yeah, that’s the one!
Such a cute look and the hat is a great touch!

A hat can add so much to a look. It really takes it to the “next level” I think.
So excited to have won a Karina dress – I’ve been wanting to try it!! This outfit, I want everything from top to bottom so if you get tired of it, please send it my way 🙂

Would love to see you Thursday for TBT Fashion link up.
I can’t wait to see you in your Karina dress and see which one you choose!
The lines of this skirt are perfect on you. I have to admit to a bit of a white shirt addiction – I have more than I care to admit!
I’m like that with shoes/boots/skirts and dresses! Ha ha!
This outfit already makes me miss summer!! Love it. I picked up a strawberry shaped wicker bag and that has to be up there with my favourites, along with a denim midi dress I’m going to be able to wear all year 🙂
I agree both of those items you picked up this year are winners.
Go with a fibromyalgia friendly fashion foto fiesta! You look like picnics and romance. Love it! What a gorgeous skirt! I bought a midi recently but online and didn’t measure well ( or at all except in my mind) and so its on the after sugar giving up pile. I think it will be a favourite. Otherwise, this season, I think I’ve been loving my green cape the most. Should post it before it gets to being too warm! Thanks for sharing your amazing look with us! Xx
Ah…the green cape! I know it must make you feel like a super hero that can conquer thrift shops in one small bound.
That skirt is fabulous and I definitely get a Dorothy (Wizard of Oz) vibe from this combination of pretty blouse/shirt, gingham and basket. Where’s Toto?! I’d LOVE to wear this outfit, you look so pretty!
Ha ha! I don’t have a Toto…but I should have had Zoe in the photos. She adores having her photo taken.
Yes indeed a beautiful outfit. Love the shoes too. And the hat. And the bag.

wouuu, I’m loving your gingham skirt, and loving the whole ensemble even more!, such a cute summery outfit!
Fabulous accessories indeed, love your bag and your ingenious DIY hat!
Sorry about that awful fibromyalgia, wishing you feel better soon!
besos
I’ve kind of gotten used to the fibromyalgia after 25 years. It’s just a question of coping with it.
You look perfect. <3 I want that skirt! It's fantastic!

I’d love for you to join my Fridays Fashions link up. 🙂
I love that skirt and the way you styled it. The bag is super gorgeous ! and I hear you with the Fibro thing.getting older is not for sissies. Comfort is key.I just discovered a trick, that might work for you. I have ben buying booties one size up, and putting one layer of memory foam, and one layer of arch support, and i can wear a 2 inch bootles, as easily as a sneaker! ( plus the two layers gives me another 1′
/2 inch…) This feels like sensible shoes, and but looks pretty good.
Don’t over do in NY, I know how hard that is! 🙂

I have put in arch supports and sized up before but I’m interested in trying out this idea of doubling up with memory foam. Thanks for the tip! I’m going to try this on the next pair of boots I thrift and see if it works for me. Anything to save my feet without having to sacrifice all fashion.
So summer-y and adorable, and the white shirt is just right here. I purged mu closet quite a bit recently, but left a white shirt just for such rare occasions… I bought a bunch of stuff (both new and secondhand, and even a vintage blouse) which I love – all Fall-ish though.
I don’t wear white very often, either…in fact, I don’t think I own a white top right now. Love the skirt! Definitely a good buy. I have no excuses, but I pack purely for comfort when traveling, too. Traveling in Asia in particular is not a particularly comfortable endeavor, so light, loose clothing and sandals with good support are life savers.
Love the skirt…really love the DIY hat!
Darlene
A gorgeous outfit, drop dead stylish without looking like you’ve tried too hard.
The skirt is fabulous, the hat inspiring and the basket is fantastic.
My best Summer buys this year are a 1970s wool cape (£4() and some Aldo battered leather boots (£1) – which proved essential for our British Summer nights! xxx
You always find the best treasures for super cheap.
Fibromyalgia is a real bugger, isn’t it?
I love everything about this outfit, BIG time. Totally adorable but without being overly cutesy which is a difficult thing to pull off. My favourite buys of the summer? A graphite grey maxi skirt which I’m posting about tomorrow which was an impulse pull of the rack and has turned out to be a fantastic piece, my £5 in the sale, hawaiian print shorts – if only summer had been longer!
You are just too frickin’ adorable in this outfit. So sorry about the Fibromyalgia – I have known several people who have struggled with it, and it sucks.
