Spilling My Secrets – Dancing Chick
Want to know all my secrets?
Lana was kind enough to ask me to be featured on the Blended Blog today where I answered these burning questions…

What hobbies do you have other than blogging?
Other than blogging, what do you do for a living (profession)?
What has been the most rewarding outcome of blogging?
What is your favourite style season (fall, spring, summer, winter) and why?

Pop over for a visit if you’re interested in my answers.
I finished a new card of a dancing chick with very long legs wearing a tutu this week. Now available in my Etsy store.
Also I was lucky enough to be chosen by the Independent Fashion Bloggers for their weekly round up of Links à la Mode.

Wear Florals With Leather Opposites Attract
Florals With Leather
I like florals and I like leather. It is the ying yang of my style. Combining the two is a no brainer.
When I bought this leather skirt via thrift about a year ago now I had no idea I would wear it so often.

I could pull up to high tea on my Harley in this outfit. Of course I’d have a custom painted floral helmet to match.

I used to ride motocross a little bit when I was a youngin’. WAY back when. I quite liked it, although I must say I detest the sound of a Harley.
My older brother was a fan of racing motorcycles and owned quite a few when I was growing up. He also raced motocross.
I once made a long trip on the back of a non touring motorcycle from Edmonton to Regina (8.5 hours). Being young and stupid naive we thought it would be romantic and sexy to make the trip via motorcycle. It was not comfortable at all. I felt like I’d been riding a horse through a wind tunnel while someone threw debris and insects at me. It rained non stop, the visors were plastered with bugs and I froze. My hair at the time was long and permed (it was the 80’s remember), it whipped around like it was trying to escape my head for over eight hours. It took forever to get through that mess. We weren’t able to communicate through our helmets either. Yes we had the “no frills” helmets. iPods didn’t exist at the time so it was one flipping boring journey. It is a miracle we made it.
Everything I took for the trip had to fit into one side saddle bag.
We didn’t have much time to prepare for my friend’s wedding which was the whole point of the trip. We couldn’t afford a hotel room and my friend offered her place since she was staying at her Mom’s prior the wedding.
I remember dreading the return trip home.
That was the first and last “romantic” long distance motorcycle trip I ever took.
Everything was an adventure back then.
Oh to be young and foolish again.
Now I’m just foolish and I have no excuse.
Well I suppose I could say I’m old and senile.
There is always an excuse to be foolish if you look hard enough.
My husband’s mid life crisis has threatened a few times that he might “need” a motorcycle. So far it hasn’t come to that, fingers crossed.
So back to florals with leather before I got side tracked…yes or no for you?
