I haven’t owned a pair of white jeans for decades.
I remember a pair I had in grade eight. I’m sure I had some after that but those are the ones I remember best.
Man…grade eight! We used to make crank calls to people before there was call display or *69. (Yes I am that old.) One of us would choose a number from the phone book (remember those?) and then the other one would nervously phone and ask, “Is your refrigerator running?”
Then when they’d say yes we’d laugh and scream…”Well go and catch it!” and quickly hang up the phone and laugh and laugh.
That was when I was hanging out with the bad seeds from the neighbourhood LOL.
Can you imagine? No cell phones, no internet.
Life was as pure as my white jeans here.
Nice Segway back to the jeans Suzanne!
I’d talked myself out of white jeans for years thinking they were too see-through and made the lower half of my body look larger.
For some weird reason this year I’m suddenly okay with them. Also…these ones are not see-through. So that is helpful and solved half of the problem.
My white jean phobia was miraculously cured.
This was the first pair I tried on when I decided to buy some this year. I love it when I only choose one item to take into the change room and it works perfectly. Saves me so much time. I’m a shopping savant. Now if only I could turn that into cold hard cash somehow.
Did you do any silly pranks as a kid?
Are you a fan of white jeans/pants?
Want to see how I painted those shoes? Or another menswear inspired look?

We used to call boys we liked, then get too nervous to say anything and hang up. No, that was not last year. ; > You look fabulous in your white jeans – I consider them a staple. You made that cool necklace, didn’t you? xox
Ha ha! You crack me up : )
I forgot…yes I have been making pendant necklaces like a mad woman lately. This one is a mix of cream/white. I keep making them and then don’t bother to put them on my Etsy store. I must make a point to do this though. Every one I make I never want to sell. I need to rid myself of that issue though.
I think white jeans are looking fab on you here! I don’t know what you were so worried about… I now also feel old that I remember prank calls from my youth too (although was always too chicken to do any myself) and the fact that today’s children probably don’t even know what they are… argh, I’m 105!!
That makes me 210 then! LOL
You look great! I have a pair I need to haul out and style again.
They look fantastic on you. Love the waistcoat and that fabulous tasselled necklace, too.
I had a fear of white footwear since i developed an aversion to it in the 1980s. Back then only “townies” wore them – people who listened to chart music and went to mainstream clubs. I wear my vintage white boots with pride now. xxx
I adore those vintage white boots of yours.
Suzanne—Those jeans are so perfectly fabulous on you….it’s a good thing you got over that phobia! I am a huge fan of white anything….it looks so clean & bright! jodie

ps…great idea on painting the shoes—and love the entire outfit!
I was a bit stressed about painting those shoes but I am delighted with how they turned out.
I have avoided white jeans like the plague for the very same reasons you did! You look so wonderful in them with a little more convincing perhaps this summer? The tassel necklace is magical.

Thanks : ) Made it myself.
They look great. Why is it we talk ourselves out of so many things as women? We all need to have more courage…and faith in ourselves. As far as pranks, I was kind of the straight and narrow path kind of kid scolding the others who were getting into trouble. 🙁
Guilty of doing the same back in the day!! And remember party line phone calls, we would have like 20 people on the phone and have no real conversations at all but it was so cool 🙂
I do have a pair of white jeans that I love but it’s a dirt magnet. Or maybe I am the dirt magnet.
It looks great with your new heels!

Hope to see you Thursday for TBT Fashion link up.
I don’t remember having a party line. I lead a sheltered life! LOL
These jeans are seriously perfect on you! And yes, I remember making crank calls. My sisters and I made them all the time. It’s kind of sad that kids these days won’t know the joy of the crank call!
Ha! I can just picture you and your sisters getting into all kinds of trouble!
Kids grow up so differently now. Technology makes the world a whole different place.
(First: What’s going on? I’ve missed a bunch of your posts, I’m so sorry! I’ll catch up now, honest!)
You are rocking the white jeans, and the white tassel necklace brings everything all together beautifully. No jeans for me, of any colour, but you look fab in yours! xxx
I had some tech problems with my blog. Thankfully my hosting company was able to fix the issue.
We played that exact same crank call!! I love my white jeans…all year long. Yours look terrific.

You look great in your white jeans. I have never had a pair, for the reasons you wrote, but I do have white jeggings, which half-counts, but I never wear them. They are so CLEAN. But who knows? I may change my mind. You are a convincing argument FOR them.
Pranks? Moi? Nevah!
Imagine Melanie…they are a clean white canvas just waiting for you to make your mark!
Yep, same kind of pranks. Remember the Prince Albert in a can one? Ah, such innocence. It seems so tame compared to today.
I bought my first pair of white pants, since I can’t remember when, about two years ago on sale. They’re great for summer and I’m surprised at how much I like them. Having said that though, one pair is enough for me.
You look wonderful in yours! Love the shirt and vest, too.
Okay…I do not know that Prince Albert one! Do tell! : ) I might have to call my husband and prank him.
I LOVE this outfit. White jeans make me feel nervous since I think I’ll spill on them, but this outfit makes me think it might be worth the risk (the vest!).
You were such a bad girl! I never did prank calls. I didn’t hang out with kids like you. 🙂
No and no. But YES, to those jeans on you! I have never been a prankster and as a kid was inclined to be exceedingly well behaved. I would have considered such phone calls immature and not remotely funny. Yeah, I am sure I was really boring but I probably had an excellent book to read. I was born old.
I did have a pair of red jeans when I was in grade eight and some tough girls in grade nine tried to beat me up because they didn’t like them. Never try to beat up the mousey girl. She will surprise you. Her instinct is to punch the head. I have no luck with finding coloured denim (or white) in tall sizes and mid rise but when I do you can be sure I will buy some. xoxo
Childhood shenanigans were pretty awesome–I never did the crank calls one, though…too terrified of what would happen if/when mom found out. Finding non-see through white pants is awesome. I’ve never had any, but this pair looks really nice, especially worn with those heels, they’re really flattering!
We used to make crank calls, and also “ding dong” ditch houses. I felt like such a rebel! I don’t know why you waited so long for the white jeans – they look fabulous on you!
Fabulous outfit with the chambray and polished pumps. So polished!
Have a great weekend Suzanne!
Love it, You are back in the ivory soap fold! I agree, white jeans that are too sheer are awful,
but well made whites, and a wardrobe staple! Love your pairing, with the chambray, vest, and taste necklace ! Original, and great looking. Ah! The shoes! Amazing!

I really love this outfit and this post! It makes me want to squeeze you! Hope you don’t mind. 🙂 The vest is just so perfect here (and unexpected to me)! I must do something in these lines too.
To tell you the truth, my first pair of jeans (ok, now I remember – my second one) was off-white. I bought my very first dark blue jeans in my 30s. I’m such a dinosaur! I distasted them before that. Pretty much if everybody wears something, I distaste it. Don’t take me to literal on that. 😉 see what I mean about aging? I just get more relaxed over time. 🙂
And yes, we did such silly jokes too, and we also called boys – I once pretended to be a classmate of a boy a liked, and he never even suspected, silly goose!
xxx
Every time someone wears white jeans and makes them look fabulous (as you have), I get so jealous. Heh. I’d wear many different colors of pants, but I can’t seem to bring myself to wear white. It has nothing to do with potential difficulty in caring for the garment (stains, etc). It’s just that it’s an unforgiving color. You can’t really hide behind it. It shows everything. You have amaaaaazing legs, so they look fantastic on you. I guess I need to work on my confidence level or something. Heh.

I am very late to the party, but I will still give it my two cents. You look terrific in this outfit. The fit of these trousers on you make me envious. I have always been a lover of white trousers and found millions (OK… lots of them) which are not see-through. I have been looking for new ones lately and even bought a pair which are so comfortable (my Kingsday outfit which you saw on Facebook). But….. because they are so stretchy, they look good on hips and bum but look like a legging on my legs. I mean “white leggings”???? With just a jacket? No wa, not for me. So I decided to only use them with a very long top. And the quest began for similar white ones but not so legging-like. It cannot be done with my hips. If they are not that stretchy I don’t fill them enough and they fold rather awkward around the crotch. Another thing you don’t want. So up the creek without a peddle.

Well these also look a bit like jeggings on me…but are so comfy I don’t care.
I would never have thought to make prank phone calls (haha), just every time all my girlfriends and I were together. It was such a sad day when caller ID came into affect.
I’ve had a hard time with white jeans and I even bought a few pair. probably for the same reason you did, I feel they add pounds to my lower half, due to how long my legs are (not). Maybe I just haven’t found the perfect pair yet. I can’t believe you found these at TJ Maxx and also the first pair you tried on. By the way, love how you styled them today. And how on earth did I miss the post on those hand painted shoes?
I hear you on the short leg issue. I have the same problem. Wearing them with a bit of a heel seems to help out.
Did you see the post with my DIY floral hat? I think you might have liked that for your tea parties : )
I LOVE white pants and have several pairs. You look fantastic! A great spring look! Yes! Spring is here … finally!
Have a sunny week!
♥ carmen
Did you here Ikea has veggie balls? Check out my latest post! 🙂
that should be “hear”
Man. This takes me back to a pair of white jeans with a floral print that I had in grade 6.
I love these white jeans on you. They look great. I think white jeans are not for me. I’m too clumsy and prone to spilling things on myself.
